Stacker Sensor Cable Assy

Installation Instructions

Introduction

Ambient light conditions can effect the operation of the Model 8672 Stacker Sensor Assembly. Under
certain light conditions the Stacker Sensor may not register a single note in the Output Tray.
If these lighting conditions exist, it may be necessary to change the value of the in--line resistor.

Proceed as follows:

TURN OFF POWER AND UNPLUG POWER CORD FROM COUNTER.

1. Remove the Right Side Cover.

NOTE:
OBSERVE CORRECT ESD PRECAUTIONS WHEN
HANDLING ELECTRONIC PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS

2. Remove the three screws that secure the Control PCB, disconnect the Ribbon Cable from J11,
and carefully pivot the Control PCB out of the way.

3. Locate the Stacker Sensor Cable with the in--line resistor, disconnect the flat blade connectors
at both ends of the resistor and remove the resistor.

4. Select one of the alternate in--line resistors (usually the next higher resistor value), and
connect to the flat blade connectors into the Stacker Sensor Cable. Re--position the Stacker
Sensor Cable, ensuring that it will not rub against any moving parts.

5. Carefully pivot the Control PCB back into normal position, re--connect the Ribbon Cable to J11,
and replace the three screws removed in step #2 that secure the Control PCB.

6. Test the Counter by running a small pack of genuine currency at a reducing “batch” size from
5 to 1.

7. If the Counter is functioning correctly, replace the Right Side Cover. If the Counter is still not
registering a single note in the Output Tray, repeat these instructions from “2.” using the next
higher value of resistor.
