Good day!

It has been observed that dining and drinking customers take off their masks when inside
our establishments and spend the vast majority of their time in our establishments without
masks. With that, the Emergency Operations Center stresses the need to strictly enforce
the wearing of face masks which is on top of the practice of social distancing in our
establishments. Customers should only remove their face masks when in the act of eating
and/or drinking and should put their masks on immediately after. Needless to say, the
rest of the minimum health standards should be strictly observed in our establishments
as well. To enforce this, establishments should assign personnel to monitor customers’
compliance.

The recent rise in new Covid-19 cases in the city and other LGUs in the Visayas highlights
the need to be vigilant in the observance of minimum health standards in our
establishments. While inconvenient, the strict compliance of minimum health standards
may very well be the only thing keeping our cases in check.
