choice of clothes.
Do you agree or disagree?
Clothes are important as they help in protecting us from direct sunlight, cold weather, and other
foreign bacteria. More and more individuals state that a person’s choice of clothes could possibly
reflect his or her traditions, norms, and character traits. I agree to this statement as it is evident
that an individual’s personality could be seen by his or her choice of fashion. Also, wearing
indigenous clothing is one way of showing off unique cultures and traditions in every part of the
world.
To start with, each person’s choice of fashion has something to do with his or her character.
Whether it is about color combination, or trendy clothing items, these factors radiate a person’s
personality. For instance, if a person is jolly in nature, there is a possibility that he or she will
wear vibrant colors of clothing. If one grew up in a conservative place, then he or she will more
likely wear thick clothes that are not showing off some skin.
Moreover, many people are normalizing wearing their indigenous clothing on a daily basis as it
is a way to show foreigners their rich tradition. It is also a way to preserve one’s culture so the
future generation will have something to look forward to. An indigent’s outfit has a lot to say
about the place’s ancient stories, and historical events. It is evident that by only looking at these
individuals, one can already reflect on what happened in the past, and how they were able to
conquer former experiences. For instance, in the highlands of Ifugao, a Cordilleran province
located at the Northwest of the Philippine Island, they always wear their Bahag and Sarong,
which is their local outfit, to welcome tourists locally and internationally.
In conclusion, I agree with the essay that choice of clothing doesn’t only reflect a person’s
emotions, but also his or her well-preserved culture, and the character trait that he or she entails.
