1. Who is the main character in the film? Describe them.

Make sure that you will include the

following details:

 The name of main character is Einer Wegener, a Danish transgender woman who undergoes
surgeries until she reaches the age of 48 and is trying surgery in the late 1930s. She has a
male physical appearance and a wife, and her wife asks him to be Lili for who is a woman he
feels like, and he continues to be Lili secretly to his wife.

2. What happened to the main character? What do you think is the main reason? What are the
triggering factors that led to his changes?

 Einer Wegener struggled to reveal his identity since he was a little girl. For some reason, his
decisions were fully affected by what the community and other people will think about him.
Being transgender is the most difficult choice because you will change your physical
appearance, and most people criticize your identity. He found himself a chance to execute
his identity by pretending to be Lili, which enabled him to continue it and start to change
himself.

3. Do you think that the main character has a psychological issue? How did you say so?
 No. Having a dilemma in identifying yourself could not be considered a psychological issue.
Having a dilemma is a process of knowing yourself better, like confusion about two
identities. The main character encounters that case and struggles to determine his identity
until he sees some chances to fulfill what he wants to be.

4. Using theories we discussed in class, explain what happened to the main character.

 The article by Val Plumwood titled "Do We Need a Sex/Gender Distinction?"The majority of
attention was paid to various ideas and theories. One section of the article states that
Robert Stoller was the source of all distinction ideas. These-role approach, also known as sex
stereotyping, is based on the beliefs and expectations of the environment about how men
and women should behave. Wenger has always struggled with revealing her identity in an
environment where everyone has definitions and expectations for gender identities. Despite
all of this, the protagonist has eventually taken his path by overcoming all forms of sexism
so that she has changed herself for his benefit and satisfaction.

5. Are you in favor of gender reassignment? Why or why not?

 I am not in favor. I am a person who believes in the bible, and if I will be based on my
perspective, you feel that you have a different gender rather than male and female, it does
not matter to me as long as you are a good person and for me, we should not change our
physical appearance to tell and recognize us to be a type of person that we want because it
is a big decision and we will never put the things back to normal as long as we undergo to a
surgery.

6. What are your learning insights after watching the film? Give at least three.
 I heard some stories which are like this film, and I think most of the people who encounter
gender dilemmas take chances where they can showcase or reveal their identity.
 I have only one learning insight we should be true to ourselves and to other people about
what we feel about our gender identity.
