5.1 SUMMARY
Film making is the process of making films which primarily aim is to provide information
and educate people by means of theatrical exhibition in the most creative way possible.
The researchers wanted to present a film with different approach and provide an output
that can inspire others with creative techniques and has own unique style. Film making
has become a media platform which used to tackle different social issues such as
politics, health, poverty, drugs and others which truly affect one’s life. The researchers
truly understand the importance of having good quality film by achieving certain goals
and standards that could improve the quality of film viewing. Determination,
perseverance, hard work and team effort are the main ingredients to attain excellence
Based on the research conducted, the number of respondents which is 400 are equally
divided into 4 types of laborers and professionals such like call center agents, factory
workers, medical personnel and OFW workers. The 44% of these were females and
56% were males. Hundred percent of the respondents said Yes that they know HIV. The
highest percentage which is 62% answered that those in the LGBT community are more
prone of having HIV. The last part of the survey shows the impression, willingness and
action of the respondents that may help to those person living with HIV/AIDS.
People living with HIV/AIDS live in fear of rejection and utter disgust by those who do not
know what really is like to have HIV/AIDS. The researchers of “Juan Knight Stand”
conducted a thorough study about this problem and with the data and information they
gathered, they were able to conclude that the respondents are completely against it.
This problem that most of us ignored must be really solved. There are government and
non-governmental organizations that people living with HIV/AIDS can go to if ever they
need help and people who violates their right must also face the consequence.
The film is produced to give real life portrayal of a person living with HIV, the stigma and
misconceptions surrounding them, including the struggle of a family in racing one. The
researchers believe that media as platform will interpret and deliver to its viewers
effectively.
5.2 CONCLUSION
Raising awareness is a major factor that helps to lessen the stigma and correct the
misconception about HIV/AIDS. If people have at least the basic knowledge about the
treated, it will help no just the people involved with the virus but also the community that
surrounds it. Combining this with film making, it will be more persuasive and effective
because it will have a creative and different approach. In this process, making sure that
every scene in the film is realistic and stays true to reality is a must.
The film making experienced different difficulties from the very start because they come
up a topic that needs to be researched and to seek for an HIV person as living proof
which became a problem because people living with HIV was afraid to show themselves
and a people around them gives stigma, misconception and discrimination about the
topic HIV/AIDS. Based on the data we gathered, there are many forms of stigma and
misconception about HIV/AIDS that can bring a negative effect to those people living
with HIV.
As filmmakers, our goal is to raise awareness to reduce and hoping to remove stigma, to
correct the misconception and not to discriminate and support people living with
HIV/AIDS.
The film “Juan Knight Stand” is a story of a guy which has HIV his struggles about this
disease. This film also shows what are the stigma, misconception and discrimination
towards people living with HIV. “Juan Knight Stand” revolves on difficulties experienced
with HIV and how a person can stand on this problem. This film is also a mirror of what
HIV/AIDS is a world epidemic. Although making new advances in combating this virus,
there are many new infections every year. Everyone should know how it spreads and
how to prevent it. Should take a HIV? AIDS test if involved in any risky behavior. Also
should tell others the importance of getting tested and prevention. There is no cure virus,
5.3 RECOMMENDATION
The researchers highly recommend the thesis film “Juan Knight StanD” to raise
Syndrome (AIDS). This thesis film serves to reduce the misconception and stigma
around the people living in HIV (PLHIV). The narrative portrayal of the film is to prevent
and correct the misconception on how HIV can be transmitted and encouraging the
public into having positive point of view towards people living with HIV/AIDS.
The thesis film shows and teaches the people living with HIV (PLHIV) on how to start a
new life despite having the virus inside their bodies and live like a normal person.
People should have a proper knowledge about HIV and how to show support

Most of the people who are infected with this virus are suffering from different struggles
and this film thesis is to give them encouragement that having HIV is not the end of their
life but this can be their strength to continue living and uplifts the spirit of other person
For Families
This film is to let them know that having a family member who have HIV should not be
left alone. People living with HIV should be well handled and showing moral support is
what they needed. Encourage them to continue living and treat them like any normal
person.
For Society
People who have HIV is not different from everyone, they might have a virus but can live
like normal. Don’t hate or loathe them instead understand them and have a knowledge
about HIV.

It is very important to identify the purpose and importance of the research study about
HIV and provide the accurate information to society and why chosen making this film.
