Base training
New !

TRI – Before flight : Crew briefing (prior to simulator base training session) :

KEY’s
• During crew briefing (before simulator base training) : • Use FCTM – Base Training.
- All trainees phone numbers. • Transfer of knowledge to the real aircraft.
- Confirm reporting time for flight. • Check licenses (valid license + valid IFR = required !).
• 1 day before flight : • No other failures than simulated engine failures :
- Check with OCC (A/C, time window). - Other failures are real.
- Crew Scheduling. - TRI decides of PF and management. • Use FCTM for briefing.
- Coordinate with dispatch (est. Airport, fuel, flight plan). - Abort T/O = TRI (during T&G : no V1 !) • EMER : TRI decides !
• Day of flight : • Everybody in cockpit : LOOK-OUT & radio ! • FOEF :
- Call training aiport before departure. • Touch & Go technique. - Flaps.
- Outside
TRI – During flight : Flight Documents (provided by dispatch) : - ECAM memo.
• Preflight : • Weather folder. - Fuel.
- External with card, demonstrate cargo door ops. • Notams (specific VFR notams available @ Regie).
- Safety equipment, door handling. • ATC Flight plan for both legs (TRI).
• Inflight : • Manual loadsheet (16T fuel – all A/C types).
- Fuel management. • T/O data :
- ECAM memo – flaps – gear. - normal out of BRU.

ATC
• Crew change : - CONF 2 and est. TOW (e.g. -2T for EBCI) out of training aiport.
- Perform all as from ‘After Start set-up & checklist’. • Notepad & record of exercises.
- Note T/O & Ldg time (add 5’ taxi).
Touch & Go technique (FCTM Base Training Briefing) :
Event TRI Trainee
Prior to EVERY T & G Disarm SPOILERS
• Call training aiport before T/O.
(Ldg check completed) "NO SPOILERS, "NO BRAKES, NO REV"
NO BRAKES, NO REV"
Main gear touchdown Land NW, track CTR-line
Just after touchdown Check CTR-line Engine spool-up (TRI if F/O)
During roll Flaps 2
Reset rudder trim
Check pitch trim moving

REF’s
Check engine spool-up
Ready "GO" Set TOGA (TRI if F/O)
Check engines & FMA and release THR LVRS
At VAPP "ROTATE" Follow SRS or 15° if no FD
Keep hand behind THR LVRS
Positive CLB "POSITIVE CLB" "GEAR UP"
After gear retraction "CLB THR" Set THR LVRS to CLB • FCTM & TRI Briefing
At 500 ft AGL (or ALT*) Set 170 kts & check CONF "SPEED 170 PULL"

Base training pattern

New !

KEY’s
Downwind :
Base turn (level turn) : • Check memo
• 45 seconds (3 seconds / 100 ft AGL). • Activate approach phase
• + 1 second / 3 kts wind. • Notes & ATC.
• Gear down during turn. • Check fuel (CTR TK : MAN if not empty)
• Announce next exercise. • LOOK OUT !
• Brief T & G task distribution.
• 1 engine out :
Abeam THR : - Check engine ops first
• Start timer. 1500 ft AGL. - Flaps 3
• Maintain Flaps 2 / 170 kts - Full stop or G/A (no T & G)
- Fuel cross-feed

When gear down :

• Flaps 3. Reaching 1500 ft AGL :
Go-around : • FDs OFF, bird ON
• Managed speed.
« G/A- flaps ». • Start turn.
• Descent 500 ft/min.

ATC
• TOGA.
• Rotate to 15° (12,5° if 1 engine out).
On profile : • Retract flaps 1 step.
• Flaps FULL. 500 ft AGL :
After liftoff :
• Flaps 2 / Speed 170
« Positive CLB » • Check local pattern altitude.
« Gear up » • EBCI LH 2500’ / RH 2100’.
Gear = up :
