3 FORIEGN FOLK DANCES

1.SQUARE DANCE- Square dances were first documented in 16th-century England although their
origins can be traced further back to steps and figures used in traditional folk dances and social dances
from many countries.

2.TARANTELLA- The tarantella's origin is connected with tarantism, a disease or form of hysteria that
appeared in Italy in the 15th to the 17th century and that was obscurely associated with the bite of
the tarantula spider; victims seemingly were cured by frenzied dancing.

3.POLKA- Polka music is a form of European dance music. It originated in Bohemia, an area within the
Czech Republic. As Eastern European immigrants migrated to the United States, their music was
largely introduced to the Midwest and Great Lakes Region.
