Production testing
PTFE tube tests
For each sinter batch, at least one representative
sample of each nominal size of tube shall be selected
and tests carried out to determine mechanical proper-
ties and SG.
Where samples do not comply with the requirements
stated in this specification, each tube in the batch
shall have samples cut from each end and the sam-
ples shall be subjected to the same tests. Any sample
not meeting the specified requirements shall lead to
rejection of the whole tube.
The outside diameter and wall thickness shall be mea-
sured. Tubes not complying with the standard shall be
rejected.
Cracks found at the ends of tubes shall be cut off
along with at least 50mm of adjacent material. When
specified, each liner tube shall be subjected to a
flattening test. Each length of tube shall be passed
through a pre-set gap between two powered rollers.
The gap shall be set at 50 % of the outside diameter
of the tube. The tube shall then be rotated about the

Please note that all threads should be clean and lightly lubricated, and that the use of standard washers under
both bolt head and nut is strongly recommended.
In order to avoid causing damage to the sealing faces, flanges on pipes and fittings working at temperatures
above 40°C should only be dismantled once the temperature of the system has been reduced to this tempera-
ture level.
All PTFE/PFA lined products have small vent holes in the steel housing. It is important that these holes are not
blocked by insulation or plugged by paint, as this may cause the lining to collapse.

INSTALATION
All the pieces have protective wooden covers on the Liner sealing surfaces, in order to eliminate
any cuts and / or damage to the liner folders themselves: the wooden protective covers must be
removed as soon as possible just before assembly.
It is recommended to apply the following recommendations to ensure that the material remains
in good condition:
 Do not open the packaging with sharp parts such as scissors, knives, screwdrivers ... To avoid
damage and / or cuts to the Lining surfaces;
 Keep the packaging tightly closed until the assembly operation: this guarantees a satisfactory
state of storage of materials for at least a period of one year;
 Do not drop the neck or turn it upside down: the liner parts are rather delicate and could be
damaged irreparably if they are not handled with due care;
 Carefully remove the individual pieces from the packaging, thus eliminating the risk of me-
chanical damage to the lining surfaces.
The packages must be placed under a roof, in such a way as not to allow direct exposure to the
sun or in particularly hot climatic conditions. The packages are suitable to be kept for a period
of at least one year if treated properly.
Open the packages just before assembly, to prevent condensation and for eliminate any incor-
rect manipulations. Do not damage the packaging during the unloading operations during
internal transport with lifting equipment. Do not remove the wooden protections of the indi-
viduals pieces up to the assembly stage. Do not leave the pieces in the sun without the wooden
lids. They do not have to other specific precautions must be taken for the pieces, given their
nature.
Other metal parts must not be welded to existing ones, in order not to damage the lining.
Remove the plastic tags just before assembly. Clean with a soft non-abrasive cloth lining sur-
faces before assembly: any impurities must be removed in order to eliminate damage especially
to the Lining folders.
Do not use sharp parts to assemble the pieces: a cut on the liner folder would cause irreparable
damage.
The assembly of the individual elements does not require additional sealing gaskets, which in
any case should be used in case of coupling with surfaces harder than the PTFE itself (steel,
enamel, glass or even other plastic materials).
As a general rule, the use of seals of any kind between the flanged couplings of the pieces is not
recommended when PTFE is the chosen lining, as the PTFE folders made by us are perfectly
flat and parallel, guaranteeing the held by themselves: even the interposition of gaskets between
our PTFE folders could create leaks due to the presence of an additional body between the
flanges.
Assemble the pieces by bolting the linkage crosswise: excessive traction during bolting of the
flanges can cause permanent deformation of the liner folders.
As a general assembly criterion, it is recommended to use the following maximum
torque moments: These specifications refer to maximum temperatures and easy-to-
insert screws with lubricated threads. The data expressed are indicative and serve
only as a guide for the assembly of the details in question. Approximately 24 hours
after commissioning
Once the final operating temperature has been reached, the nuts and bolts must be
checked in relation to the moment twisting. At room temperature, the torque data
can be exceeded by up to 50%.

Once the final operating temperature has been reached, the nuts and bolts must be checked
in relation to the moment twisting. At room temperature, the torque data can be exceeded
by up to 50%.
Along the entire pipeline there are ventilation holes: it is essential that they are not obstructed
during insulation or anti-corrosion operations. When the temperature is higher than 50 ° C, no
disassembly operations should be carried out piping, in order to avoid possible damage to the
sealing surfaces.
Assemble the pieces by bolting the linkage crosswise: excessive traction during bolting of the
flanges can cause permanent deformation of the liner folders.
As a general assembly criterion, it is recommended to use the following maximum torque mo-
ments: These specifications refer to maximum temperatures and easy-to-insert screws with lu-
bricated threads. The data expressed are indicative and serve only as a guide for the assembly of
the details in question. Approximately 24 hours after commissioning
