Introduction
Cosmic Cycles Tarot was an idea I had
back in April 2018. I had a gut feeling that
I had to initiate this project, and so,
I started looking for an artist to illustrate
a tarot deck with story-telling elements.

Miriam E.G. was an Etsy artist I

approached, and she was excitedly
on board within a day. Looking at her
portfolio, I realized that we had similar
tastes, and she is very talented, so I found
collaborating with her to be such a breeze.

After designing some cards, enamel pins,

and stickers, we showed our concepts and
designs to Kickstarter and its users. To our
surprise, we were able to raise $30,000
in 60 days, and the community was very
supportive. Despite, the delays we were
able to complete the designs in November.
Now, Cosmic Cycles Tarot is here
manifest magic finally!

BASICS
OF
T AROT

6
Basics
Cosmic Cycles Tarot is a modernized
story-telling twist to the Rider-Waite deck.
The characters are inspired from the 16
court royalties and they are reimagined
in today’s society.

The structure of tarot is split into two:

major arcana and minor arcana. The
major arcana has 22 cards and it deals
with big cosmic energies. It appears in
a spread, when you are experiencing a
major transition. The minor arcana deals
more with specific energies and it is split
into four suits: Wands, Cups, Swords and
Pentacles. Each suit has 4 royalties: Page,
Knight, Queen and King. The 10 cards in
each suit shows the progression of energy,
emotions, people, etc.

7
Suits
• Wands (Fire): Drive, inspiration,
passion, determination, will.
• Cups (Water): Relationships,
partnerships, soul mates, love,
connections.
• Swords (Air): Commutation, thoughts,
anxieties.
• Pentacles (Earth): Money, property,
prosperity.

Royalties
• Pages: Messengers and deliverers,
child-like.
• Knights: Workers and soldiers, deals
with the extreme energy of the suit.
• Queens: Nurturing mothers, mature
feminine energy.
• Kings: Providing fathers, mature
masculine energy.

8
Numerology
1. Receiving an opportunity.

2. Choices, stuck in a decision.

3. Sharing of energies, involving others.

4. Gaining stability.

5. Problems with society and others.

6. Involvement with society.

7. How you respond to those problems.

8. The speed/rate of how things

will come to a completion.

9. Receiving your manifestations

(whether positive or negative).

10. Completion of a cycle, what you do

with the manifestations.

CHARACT ERS
Page of Wands
Likes: nature walks, road trips,
and camping.

Dislikes: delayed flights.

A messenger of new ideas and ventures.

A traveler, but a deserter.

Background:

To begin her journey, she left her

hometown and dashed for the nearest
airport. She wants to start fresh and be
independent. Upon arriving in the new
city, she meets friends that make her feel
like home again.

19
Page of Wands

positives: creative, confident, curious.

negatives: complacent, always bored.

Page of Wands likes to envision new

projects, vacation trips, and creative
ventures. She may like starting new
journeys, but she does not like being
rooted to a place.

She has a bad habit of starting too many

projects even if she does not have the
luxury to do so. It will save her some time
if she sat down and focus on
one specific idea.

In the card, Page of Wands is climbing

a tree to get a bird’s eye view. She is
determined to reach the top and find a
place to explore.

20
Design:

She is the first character (The Fool) that

starts the entire story, so I wanted to
design her as a wanderer with a fiery spirit
to discover. Along the process, Miriam
added red highlights to her hair
to compliment her personality.

As seen in: The Fool, Death, Judgement,

Four of Wands, Three of Cups,
Ten of Cups.

21
Knight of Wands
Likes: skydiving, energy drinks, cycling.

Dislikes: boredom.

Headed to new directions at a fast pace.

Charges through activities to get them

completed quickly.

Background:

Always pushing himself to do the extreme,

Knight of Wands is pumped with too
much adrenaline. From mountain
climbing to bungee jumping,
he can do it all.

23
Knight of Wands

Positives: dynamic, bold, goal oriented.

Negatives: reckless, in a hurry.

Knight of Wands deals with focused and

intense energy. Unlike the Page of Wands,
he strives for completing projects and
tasks. He works on his craft until he has
complete mastery, but during the process,
his frustration can get the best of him.

However, burning out is something that

Knight of Wands should take note of.
He overworks his body to the point of
exhaustion, and substituting energy drinks
for rest is not suitable for anyone.

In the card, his intensity and

determination to win is shown all over his
face, as he propels himself up in the air.
During practice, he fell more than he can
count, just so he could place first
and claim victory.
24
Design:

His character takes inspiration from Alex

Honnold, a rock climber who dares to
climb to the peak of El Capitan without
ropes. While watching his documentary,
he showed traits of both selfishness and
bravery. These traits embody the Knight
of Wands.

As seen in: The Hanged Man,

Two of Wands, Three of Wands,
Eight of Wands.

25

Wands, and her designs have won many
awards. As the creative brain and owner of
her own company, she spends most of her
time socializing with clients

the community, and she is known for
influential and inspiring home designs.
Being a Queen, she is naturally a people
pleaser who can easily inspire those

uses it to her advantage. When it comes to
ideas, she incorporates hers and blends it
with other unique elements and patterns.

The card depicts Queen of Wands

doublechecking her illustrations as she
gives instructions to her supportive
husband. She is motivated to finish this
project on time, so she can come home
to her family.

28
Design:

Her character was inspired by reality

TV shows for building dream homes. It
takes a talented person to work around a
client’s idea in making a piece of land their
comfort space for years.

Eight of Cups.

29
King of Wands
Likes: spices, clean kitchen
and cooking shows.

to teach his chefs.

get through any situation. At work, he
manages the kitchen and pressures the
chefs to cook with intensity.

31
King of Wands

is vital to him.

techniques and the secret ingredients to
add flavor to his pastries. He tells them
that passion is crucial to any dish.
32
Design:

I was inspired by watching cooking shows

and Master Chef Ramsay Gordon while
creating the character for King of Wands. I
liked his intensity and how he uses that to
inspire others to be a Master Chef.

As seen in: The Emperor,

33
Page of Cups

Dislikes: bullies.

A messenger of love and positive news.

A giver, but a pushover.

Background:

Page of Cups has a big heart, and she loves

making people feel valued. She can be
very child-like and immature, but this is
just her way of expressing her creativeness.
Her imagination flows through her hands
and through the cups she molds.

35
Page of Cups

Positives: expressive, giver, thoughtful.

Negatives: sensitive, pushover.

Page of Cups loves to show her love to

people by showering them with affection
and handmade gifts. She likes to brighten
up people’s day by giving good
news and funny jokes.

with his customers and skillfully use
his charisma to earn his tips. On some
occasions, he is permitted to take
the stage and blast on some tunes.

39
Knight of Cups

Positives: knight in shining armor,

friendly.

Negatives: clingy, needs saving as well.

Knight of Cups is a bartender with a

hidden talent for making music. With the
right blend of smooth talk and humor, he
is quite a catch. His poetic side is also an
added bonus to his positive qualities.

On the downside, he can come off as

his specialty drink to a tourist he wants to
impress. He just met her, but he knew she

simple task, and the Queen of Cups should
not forget to also take care of the most
important person which is herself.

The card shows Queen of Cups sitting in

her office as she is gluing crowns for the
entire class. Her room is organized filled
with materials for kinds of arts and crafts.

44
Design:

We spend a lot of time in school and

throughout our lives have encountered
multiple teachers and mentors. Teachers
have big hearts and a lot of patience

designed Queen of Cups based on all the
teachers who made a difference.

Intuition is something that everyone has

and can develop over time. The High
Priestess reminds us to connect to our
higher self and to trust our inner voice.

information that will help make smarter
decisions. Think about the past, present,
and future and connect the dots. Listen
and watch for messages or symbols
from your guides.

of Pentacles comforting Knight of Cups.

not help but empathize with her. Their
connection lowered their walls down and
they became each other’s safe haven.

as if it was fated by destiny.

car of his dreams. This car unlocked new
opportunities, and it gave him more time
to spend it with those who matter.

The Chariot is a moving card where the

energy around you is propelling to take
action. This could mean huge progress,
or a new path just unlocked and opened
ahead.

The key to the ignition is now in your

hands. All that is left to do is to drive. Do
not doubt yourself and trust your instincts.
The road ahead is smooth because you
paved it yourself.

99
Strength 8
To Knight of Pentacles, his accident is just
another hurdle he can recover from. His
courageous spirit keeps him motivated
to walk again.

The Strength card is about our inner

spirit to overcome life’s difficulties. There
may be a tough situation where your
determination is tested, and you will need
all the strength you can muster.

Your patience and resilience will be

needed, so come prepared. Push through
to the end and be amazed at how strong
you have been.

101
The Hermit 9
Page of Pentacles is reading a book and
taking a break from society. She has her
hood up and her phone down. She is
taking this time to recharge and think
things through.

The Hermit is the time to be alone and to

take a break from everything. It would be
a good idea to take a vacation and explore
nature.

By detaching yourself, you start to pay

attention to things you might not have
noticed before. It is a learning period
that requires silencing the mind and your
surroundings. Take a detox from social
media and put the phone down.

103
Wheel of Fortune 10
Page of Cups has been feeling stuck and
caught in a cycle of misfortunes. Then, her
luck changed when she won golden tickets

thinking. What is right differs from
person to person, but there will always be
consequences.

It is good to note that Justice is blind, but it

knows the truth. When this card appears,
someone will be held accountable
for their actions.

107
The Hanged Man 12
Knight of Wands is watching the sunset,
as he takes a break from cliff climbing.
He has a cigarette in his mouth and takes
a long look at the majestic views.

A different perspective is what The

Hanged Man sees. When it shows up in
your reading, it is reminding you to take a
different look at a situation.

The solution to our problems has a

tendency to be overlooked when it
happens to be right in front of us.

109
Death 13
A grim reflection shows Page of Wands,
and she is skin and bones. She has been
feeling unwell and is losing in touch with
herself. As she cuts her hair, she starts to
shed her old personality.

As humans, we undergo multiple series

of death in our personality, relationships,
etc. When we experience death, it is not
necessarily a negative experience. Letting
go of what does not serve us, gives room
for rebirth.

It is time to say goodbye to your old self,

and carrying grudges will only drag the
process. Use the pain as an inspiration
to transform into a better person.

111
Temperance 14
Page of Swords lives in the heart of the
city where the honking of cars is her alarm
clock. To quiet her mind and calm her
soul, she heads to a local studio to realign
her chakras.

A healthy person’s energy is always

moving, but blocked blocked by stress,
unhealthy diets, lack of sleep, etc.

address the imbalances in your body
and your life.

Take things slow and start committing to

healthy habits and living. The body, spirit,
and mind are working together
in harmony.

113
The Devil 15

enjoys tormenting the Page of Pentacles as
he gets drunk. He trashed her room and

manifests. A person surrounded by
this energy can be a selfish abuser or a
narcissist. This energy can affect anyone,

a good idea too.

115
The Tower 16
A fire suddenly ignited in the homes of
Queen and King of Swords. Everything
that they have worked for is all gone in
flames. Thankfully, everyone was safe, and
even the cat managed to get outside.

in different elements. The Tower energy
could affect your relationships, finances,
security, family, business, etc.

The damage it creates is shocking and

massive, that resisting is futile. Structures
can be build again, so less worrying and
more planning for aftermath.

117
The Star 17
Page of Cups has been planning for this
day to make a wish under the shooting
star. She watches from a distance as the
universe listened to her.

Our thoughts become manifestations,

and the more we act toward it, the faster
it becomes a reality. The Star energy is
known to be a wish card and a sign that
your manifestations are on its way.

Choose your thoughts wisely because the

universe is tuning in to your energy. It is
your time to shine!

119
The Moon 18
Page of Swords’ relationship with Page of
Cups is a secret she must keep for now.
She is just learning more about herself
and wants to know who she truly is before
revealing it to others. She cannot, however,
control others like her dog from spilling
it before her.

The Moon is about secrets and things we

do not want other people to see. In our
day to day lives, some of us wear a mask to
create an illusion that we are this confident
persona. The Moon energy unmasks that.

When you see this in a spread, you can

start to see under people’s illusion, or they
can see through yours.

121
The Sun 19
The Sun is shining brightly as Page of
Cups strolls along a field of sunflowers.
She wants to relish and remember this
emotion, so she captures a picture of the
majestic view.

The Sun represents happiness, clarity,

and positivity. After the dark and gloomy
nights, the sunset is a reminder that there
will always be hope and something to look
forward to.

The Sun also represents what is conscious

and visible. It will light up a path for you
towards your happiness.

123
Judgement 20
Graduation is not the end of Page of
Wands’ journey, but merely a turning
point. Now that part of her life is over, she
is starting her life as an adult. It is up to
her to mature and be part of the working
society.

when you are satisfied and have everything
you want and need.

Traveling may be in the plan, so start

packing and venture to parts of the World
you have never seen.

127
128
MINOR
ARCANA
Ace of Wands
The beautiful skies and the city landscape
inspired Page of Pentacles to choose this
view to paint. She starts to visualize what
the final product would look like and plans
her strokes ahead.

The Ace of Wands is a beginning to pursue

what you are passionate about, whether
that is through arts, traveling, occupation,
etc.

It could be a spark of interest to a new

hobby, so do not get frustrated if things do
not go smoothly right away. Aces are only
the start of a cycle, so do not give up.

131
Two of Wands
Knight of Wands is stuck choosing
between two destinations. The closer
island seems to be a safe bet, but the
farther one looks more promising. He has
his binoculars to see what is ahead and a
sturdy boat to get him to either place.

The Two of Wands deals with having the

opportunity to choose where we want
to go in life. This is the chance to start
looking further and go somewhere new.

If you are unsure about being ready,

plan before you leave. Forgetting your
necessities could cause significant
problems that can be avoided by
starting a checklist.

133
Three of Wands
Knight of Wands is glad that his energy
rowing to the farther island was worth
it. He has docked his boat and decides
to explore. His careful planning and
surveying of the area have become
quite fruitful.

The Three of Wands is finally arriving at

your destination after the planning and
preparing. Now that you are here, it is time
to settle, find resources, and expand your
connections.

Look at your new surroundings, and you

might discover new things that could help
along the way. There is no turning back
now, so fulfill what you came here to do.

135
Four of Wands
Page of Pentacles needed a change of
scenery, and she wanted to visit her friend
that she has not seen in years. The two
reunite and realize how much they needed
each other’s company.

Structure and support is key to a good

house and a healthy relationship. In tarot,
the four wands symbolize the foundation
of your relationship with the people you
care about.

During this time, expect to have reunions,

family gatherings, and celebrations. Focus
on your loved ones and catch up
with each other.

137
Five of Wands
Teamwork is crucial, but this team forgot
the main objective of the game. The
team members are focused on their own
ego, and the treasure chest up ahead is
unnoticed.

Tension builds up with constant

disagreeing, and this later leads to full-
blown arguments. Those involved
refuse to listen to one another, and their
conversations spiral back to the same
issue.

Do not let conflict affect what you and

your team have worked on. Give each
member a chance to speak and
agree on a consensus.

139
Six of Wands
This parade led by Page of Swords
and Page of Cups are supported by the
community. They are applauded for their
cause and contribution to society.

Your ideas and ventures are supported by

the community, so listen to their cheers
and suggestions. If this card appears, your
efforts are recognized and appreciated.

Let this achievement be a reminder that

you are one step closer to completing a
goal. There might be some resistance, but
do not bother listening to the comments.

141
Seven of Wands
The media demands an explanation from
King of Pentacles, but he is not keen on
being disrespected. He will not let this
stand, and they will have to take no for an
answer.

Seven of Wands deals with insecurities and

jealousy by others who would want to be
in your position. Not everyone appreciates
your success, and they will even question
how you got there.

Ignorance is bliss when it comes to this

energy, and it will save you a lot of stress
from dealing with their negativity.

143
Eight of Wands
The Knights are onboard the fastest roller
coaster, and their cart is about to drop all
the way down. From the looks on their
faces, most of them are not enjoying the
ride.

movements that can take you by surprise.
The energy zooms past delays and delivers
ahead of time, so prepare to work twice as
much.

With the sudden acceleration, clear your

schedule ahead of time. Use this energy to
propel the completion of a project or use
it as a head start to work on a new one.

145
Nine of Wands
Knight of Swords just wants to go home
after a long and exhausting day at work,
but the path ahead is dark and covered in
sheets of snow. He is almost at the point of
exhaustion, but he must go home soon. He
is relying on his flashlight to get to the end
of the road.

The battle is almost over, but Nine of

Wands brings an extra challenge that you
must go through. You may be at the point
of nearly giving up, but find something to
lean on.

Do not get anxious that the difficulties

would never end, because you are almost
at the end. The Nine of Wands is a
reminder to keep holding on just
a little longer.

147
Ten of Wands
After the laborers went home, Queen of
Wands puts in the extra work, so that she
could come home to her family. All these
unnecessary liftings put a strain on her
back, and it barely gets the job done.

Ten of Wands deals with stresses as they

quickly turn to burdens. When you get this
card, it could imply that you are trying to
get rid of your burdens by yourself at an
impossible rate.

No one can outrun time, so save your

baggage for another day. It also doesn’t
hurt to ask for help to lessen the weight on
your shoulders.

149
Ace of Cups
For the past years, King of Cups has live in
solitude, but he is now ready to open his
heart and let people in.

The flowing energy of Ace of Cups breaks

open a wall that allows your emotions to
stream. You are now ready to receive and
accept love.

been so closed off relationships and are
finally ready to commit. You have a cup
full of love, and it is only a matter of
finding someone to share it with.

151
Two of Cups

their first date, and love is in the air. They
are listening to the same music, and this
union starts the beginning
of a new relationship.

Meeting someone is something we do on

a regular daily basis, but in Two of Cups,
sparks will fly. This new partnership is
destined, and you may find a lot of things
in common with each other.

This card could also apply to a formal

agreement, such as a contract. Whoever
you are in business with, trust that you are
in good hands.

153
Three of Cups
Page of Cups and Page of Swords are
showing their new friend, Page of Wands
around town. The three are having fun
getting to know each other, and they have
the entire day planned.

reaching out and connecting with your
friends can be done in a few taps. The
Three of Cups encourages you to reach
out, and meet them face to face.

Catching up with people, you can be

surprised at how fast they change and
mature. Through listening to their stories,
you can learn, relate, and strengthen your
bond with each other.

155
Four of Cups
Pouting and refusing to open her eyes, a
young Page of Pentacles is way too upset
to notice her teacher offering her a chance
to start over. After she calms down, she
might change her mind and take the offer.

The Four of Cups is about dismissing

people’s offer, whether it is intentional
or not. Perhaps you are too busy or too
content in life, it is still important to
acknowledge and properly decline it.

Consider what is laid down in front of you,

because this might be your only chance to
take it. You would not want to regret the
opportunity of a lifetime.

157
Five of Cups
Knight of Swords weeps for his brother
and pet dog as he apologizes for being a
failure. Despite feeling alone, their spirits
are always supporting him.

Failing is part of life, but do not let the

blame and disappointment linger. The
Five of Cups is the time to forgive, move
on, and fix what is salvageable.

or ashamed about your actions because
mistakes help you to improve. Your loved
ones will accept you, so reach out to them.

mother came back home. They would
spend an entire day enjoying each other’s
company because they have a lot of
catching up to do.

Certain scents, places, tastes, symbols,

sounds, etc. can instantly recollect a
memory from the past. The Six of Cups
takes you on a magical ride to relive some
memories from your childhood.

This could be a time to reunite with an

old pal, look at photo albums, find ancient
trinkets, and remember who
you once were.

161
Seven of Cups
Page of Cups has so many options that
are clouding her decision-making skills.
She is stuck thinking about combinations
of flavors and toppings that would go
together.

Wants and needs are two different things,

but with the Seven of Cups, it is easy to
confuse the two. When this appears in a
layout, avoid spending what you cannot
afford.

Focus on your chosen cup, and do not get

sidetracked by other eye-catching ventures
or ideas. There will be another time to do
the different endeavors.

163
Eight of Cups
Queen of Wands’ chose to leave her family
to pursue her career. It is a decision that
broke her husband’s heart and left the
baby with one parent.

Despite feeling comfortable in your

current life situation, you might feel the
need to leave and do something more
fulfilling. There is a possibility for a new
job, acceptance letters, vacations, etc. to
feel accomplished.

The Eight of Cups is not exactly a winwin

situation, as those you leave behind will
miss your company.

165
Nine of Cups
After an unfortunate accident, Knight of
Pentacles gave up playing basketball. He
eventually accepted his situation, but most
importantly, he learned to appreciate his
accomplishments. He starts to treasure
those who remained supporting him.

Being content in life is not about having

the most expensive items, but appreciating
what is there and seeing its real value.
At this point, you may feel like your life
is perfect, and you are living life to the
fullest.

The Nine of Cups can be an excuse to live

life luxuriously, even if it is just for a day.
Enjoy eating at a buffet or attend a party or
two, you deserve it.

167
Ten of Cups
As years have gone, Knight of Cups and
Page of Pentacles are getting married in
front of their friends. They have kept in
touch and supported one another, despite
having their own personal struggles.

The Ten of Cups deals with your family’s

bond as it strengthens over time. They
have been with you all these years, and
as you age together, you see each other
mature and succeed.

Currently, you feel valued by each

member, and you participate in every
occasion. When you get a chance, gather
for a toast to everyone’s success and
happiness!

169
Ace of Swords
Page of Swords has matured from playing
with toys and would want a challenging
pastime. The moment she saw the kite, she
instantly figured out the mechanics and
techniques to sustain it in air.

You have been invited by the Ace of

Swords to take on a challenge that would
need logic and lots of thinking. Accepting
and wielding the sword, you can find the
answers you were looking for.

Do not worry about stuttering, you will

find the right words to say. With this
Ace energy, you can cut through any
miscommunications.

171
Two of Swords
Page of Swords is under a spotlight, and
her parents are making her choose sides.
Deciding her fate is not that easy because
both choices have so many cons.

Two of Swords deals with the refusal to

make a decision because you are conflicted
with the consequences. The choices you
have can affect others, so you choose not
to see and not to decide.

Prolonging your decision will only

make the situation worse, so rip off that
blindfold and start weighing your options.
Perhaps, there is a win-win situation you
are not seeing.

173
Three of Swords
The pain of heartbreak is unbearable for
Knight of Cups, and so he writes a song. As
he listens to his own lyrics, he is reminded
of the painful memories and bitter words.

Feeling backstabbed and betrayed, The

Three of Swords is a bleak reminder of
pain and suffering. The words of others
may have offended you more than you
expected, but you can tune them out.

Experiencing pain allows for a

muchneeded healing. Pull the swords out
and feel your emotions sink in.

175
Four of Swords
The callous from the strings haven’t
formed, and the wounds from the
heartbreak are fresh, yet the Knight of
Cups took the next train to serenade
another potential. As he dozes off and
misses his stop, he has a lot to reconsider.

A human has about 60,000 thoughts per

day, and if you are stressed, those thoughts
would be quite exhausting. The Four of
Swords reminds you to go back to bed and
rest your head.

Avoid making big decisions and sleep

before you act on it. A good night’s rest
will clear your mind to help determine the
next course of action.

177
Five of Swords
The entire day Knight of Cups insists on
only playing games where he can get a
guaranteed win. Tired of losing, Knight of
Pentacles heads toward the crane machine.

“Win some, lose some”, the Five of Swords

is a situation where either party is happy
with the outcome. You may have won the
game, but now there is bad blood.

Be careful with your actions and especially

your words. Winning can mean cutting
connections with people who matter,
so choose your games well.

179
Six of Swords
This winter has been remarkably cold, and
the bitterness in this household froze into
sharp icicles. The lack of communication
drove this mother and daughter away as
they head to a warmer place.

Six of Swords is a necessary and painful

transition out of an old situation. This
move might be giving you doubts and
anxieties about leaving, but heading
towards the unknown is a possibility for a
happier life.

Say your final goodbyes and take a last

glance back, this might be the only time
to do so. Do not carry baggage from your
past and learn to let go of what does not
benefit you anymore.

181
Seven of Swords
Trying to sneak a peek, a hooded man
plans to steal valuables and information
from Queen of Swords’ office. The only
thing stopping him from getting inside
is the barred window, and a pair of eyes
capturing his every move.

The Seven of Swords energy deals with

mischievous and malicious intentions
that you have or someone has for you. A
trickster is attempting to go unnoticed
as he steps over people’s trust and
confidence.

This card is a warning to be careful and to

keep your eyes open for other people who
are also observing you.

183
Eight of Swords
Queen of Pentacles is a prisoner of
her own thoughts that is fueled by
her drinking. She is blinded by her
insecurities, and she could not see
the way out.

Bodies feel like a prison when the Eight

of Swords’ energy is around. It also affects
decision making because all the options
would seem like a dead end.

Despite the negative connotation of this

card, the prison is only an illusion that our
anxieties manifest. Remove the blindfold
and see life for what it truly is.

185
Nine of Swords
Queen of Pentacles has been avoiding her
emotions until it crept on her and took her
by surprise. The tears streamed down her
face and only stopped when she fell asleep.

After feeling entrapped in Eight of Swords,

the anxieties manifest into something
heavier; a panic attack. The Nine of
Swords energy will take every ounce of
happiness, so be prepared.

Being crammed inside is not helpful, so

head outside and breathe some fresh air.
The sunshine can also help cheer you up.

187
Ten of Swords
Page of Pentacles lies motionless from the
pain and trauma that eventually became
too unbearable to carry. Each message
sliced her dignity and self-respect she had
for herself.

Just when you thought it would get better,

the final sword pierces through your ego
and soul. The Ten of Swords is a point
where you give in and take in all the
attacks as it breaks you from inside.

On the plus side, the words eventually

start feeling numb. Little by little, you get
less affected and immune to the pain.

189
Ace of Pentacles
The claw machine grabbed an opportunity
for Knight of Pentacles’ that established his
career. As long as he plays to win, he does
not have to worry about his finances.

The Ace of Pentacles pops up in a reading

as a sign that your project will get funded.
The reward could come from a company
bonus, an investor willing to pitch in, or
maybe in a lottery.

Spend wisely, and maybe you can double

your finances. You now have the seed
money, whether you invest or spend it, is
all up to you.

191
Two of Pentacles
King of Pentacles is understaffed, and he is
working two jobs. As he struggles with his
tasks, he accomplishes neither and burns
the entree.

To keep up with finances, you may feel the

need to get another job or perhaps work
extra assignments. The Two of Pentacles
is busy and stressful energy, so think twice
before committing.

Juggling work would come easy at first, but

what matters is how long can you sustain
it. Work the hustle until you need to, but
also know your limits.

193
Three of Pentacles
A collaboration brings two friends working
together, and they are both surprised
by each other’s talents. With Knight of
Pentacles’ soulful voice and Knight of
Cups’ undeniable rhythm, the song will
top the charts.

There is no “I” in Three of Pentacles, and

the only way to succeed is with a team.
With this card, your efforts will only shine
with other people’s help.

The work that you are assigned requires

skills that you do not possess, so instead of
stepping up to do it, find other specialists
that will do it correctly.

195
Four of Pentacles
Knight of Swords has been saving up all
his birthday money and restaurant tips to
drive a car of his own. Instead of splurging
with his friends, he works all day and
night.

With the Four of Pentacles, money can

feel scarce. During this time, you should
be budgeting your finances and calculating
your bills.

You may find that you need to cut back on

costs, or maybe you are being too stingy
and can spend a couple of bucks. Either
way, you need to do the math.

197
Five of Pentacles
Queen of Pentacles’ luxurious life has
come to an end, and she has to face being
an independent adult. Stripped off her
cash and credit cards, she is running out of
time to find a bed to sleep on tonight.

Running out of resources is a personal

crisis you can experience with The Five
of Pentacles. Your finances took a hit
that is possibly caused by an accident, a
disagreement, a divorce, getting fired, etc.

Reaching out for help, most will decline

and ignore your urgent pleas. At this
point, you have to be a little inventive and
persistent to get out of this mess and be
financially stabilized.

199
Six of Pentacles
King of Pentacles is known for investing
in people with potential and dedication.
As soon as he heard the beat and the
harmony, the duo convinced him that
they are worth his donations and time.

After feeling hopeless in Five of Pentacles,

someone will be providing you aid in
the Six of Pentacles. The blessing could
come from a friend, the bank, a charity, a
scholarship, etc.

If you are in the reversed position,

then someone is reaching out for your
assistance. Waiting for an answer, their
issue could be time sensitive. Helping
could be risky, but good deeds could
always get reciprocated.

has accumulated medals for serving
his country. Looking back on his
accomplishments, he dedicated
it all to his family.

After working for some profit, the time has

finally arrived that you can appreciate and
look back on your hard work. Take this
time to remind yourself of the purpose of
all the sweat, blood, and tears.

If you find that the result is disappointing,

then maybe you should try another route.
It is not too late to turn back.

About the Author
Growing up, astrology and magic were a
big part of my life. I spent my childhood
days searching for spells and getting my
daily horoscope from the newspaper.

Naturally, by the time I reached my

young-adulthood, I slowly stopped
believing in magic because of the
stigma associated with it.

The moment I got my first tarot deck, the

more I started to see that the magic never
left. Tarot helped me discover more about
myself and it opened my intuition I shut
off years ago.

212
It inspired me to be a better person and to
see things from a wider angle.

Cosmic Cycles Tarot is a huge milestone

for me in the past 21 years of my life. It
pulled me out of my darkest times, and
showed me a path to happiness.

I hope this deck can provide readers

clarity, just like it did to me.

After Cosmic Cycles, I plan to continue my

tarot journey in making more decks and
reading for others.

About the Artist
Miriam E.G. is an illustrator and animator
from Madrid, Spain. Since she was a kid,
animation and manga have always been an
inspiration to keep drawing as a hobby.
Her interest in movies and its creation
process, and the imposed idea that drawing
was not a “serious job” led her to study
Audiovisuals in a University.
She didn’t stop drawing, and in her free
time, she went to anime conventions selling
illustrations and merchandising. She also
started to work for commissions.

For her internship, she joined an animation

studio she acquired thanks to the portfolio
she built during her time at the University.

She ended working for three years in

different specialties of the animation
industry for some animation productions,
like as animator for “Milo Murphy’s Law”
for Disney TV, and as background colorist
for the awarded short “Cazatalentos”,

214
that won a “Goya” prize in Spain as “Best
animated short” in 2019.
As a creative person, she enjoys working
on different artistic projects. She likes to
catch in her drawings little moments full of
colors and emotion.

“When Martina proposed to do this project,

I thought that it could fit perfectly with me.
I didn’t know anything about Tarot, but
found it very interesting to illustrate their
meanings. Also it was a real challenge to
complete so many detailed illustrations and
invest so much time.

The Kickstarter campaign was an incredible

help in this way. I could not believe all the
success and attention it was getting. My
greatest interest was to make illustrations
with the best quality I could in the time we
had. Martina had great ideas and gave me
a lot of freedom to work. So the project
simply flowed”.

Design Notes
The Fool: This was the first card that I thought
of, and I wanted to show how Page of Wands
can quickly drop everything and go. It shows
her stubbornness and free spirit.

The Magician: Music is magical in every way.

This card highlights how it can also boost
people’s spirits, just like a magician.

The Empress/The Emperor: Besides

representing the masculine/feminine energy,
these cards are also about being mothers and
fathers. I wanted to show those two concepts
with the cards.

The Lovers/The Devil: I designed this card

together with the Devil to contrast the opposite
cards. These cards show how one person can
affect your energy and life.

The Hierophant: Not everyone has the same

belief, and not everyone has a religion. It was
important to me that this card represented

222
different ways that one can express
their spirituality.

The Chariot: Having a car opens up so many

possibilities, especially in today’s society. It
saves you time and lessens your stress. The
Chariot is the shift in Knight of Swords’
skateboard to a car.

Wheel of Fortune: The Ferris Wheel is a

metaphor for life’s cycles. Sometimes you feel
like you are at the peak of our life, but life goes
around, and you can instantly be
at rock bottom.

The Hanged Man: Knight of Wands does not

see how much people care and worry for him
when he’s off doing reckless activities. Now
that he is dangling thousands of feet above the
ground, he starts to see a different perspective.

Judgement: Graduation is a time where you

are officially a fully functioning member
of society. Your contribution could have a
significant impact to others. And the people
around you are observing what you do next.
