Bethesda North Region
John Ward is the Senior Vice President of the
Bethesda North Region, a role he assumed in
September 2019 after serving as Chief Information
Officer since November 2014. By working in
concert with the Bethesda North Region’s
physicians and hospital presidents – who have
day-to-day responsibility for the operations of our
hospitals – John provides senior leadership during
a time of strategic growth for the Bethesda North
region, marked by major capital projects including
the development of the Thomas Comprehensive
Care Center and the creation of the TriHealth
Heart Hospital on the Bethesda North Campus.

Under John’s leadership as CIO, TriHealth

achieved HIMSS Stage 7 for Hospitals and Ambulatory and received 8 consecutive
HealthCares Most Wired awards. John has served in multiple other leadership roles
with TriHealth. He was the Director of Health Systems Integration for TriHealth, before
becoming Director of Ambulatory Systems in 2013.

John is a graduate of Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky, where he earned

degrees in Business Administration and Information Systems.

He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at Georgetown College and a

member of the Dean’s Advisory Board or the College of Informatics at Northern
Kentucky University. Ward is a member of HIMMS (Healthcare Information
Management Systems Society) and CHIME (College of Healthcare Information
Management Executives).
