Hello, Good morning ladies and gentleman, I hope all of you have a great day today. Welcome
to the City of Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia’s with many uniqness and great stories
behind it. Firstly, on behalf of JY tour guide company, I thank you to you all kind people in
here, for trusting and choosing our service in your trip this time. May these trip be an amazing
experience for all of you.
Let me intorduce my self and our crew, my name is Mr. Constantine or you can call me Cons
as your tour guide, this is Mr. Kruger your professional friendly driver, with his partner Mr.
Del as the co-driver. Our itinerary today is, as soon after you all arrived at Soekarno-Hatta
International Airport, we will go sight seeing or touring around central Jakarta by bus, and then
stop by at 12 O’clock, in Sate Padang Ajo Ramon, one of the famous Culinary at Jakarta, to
have a lunch. After that we will go straight to Raffles Hotel and check in, then you can rest
after your flight, unpacked your belongings, or enjoy your free time by hanging out to one of
the biggest mall in Jakarta that located exactly beside your hotel. Lastly, for our own safety
and mutual comfort, please tell us if you want to go somewhere else that are outside the free
time schedule, and If you guys have any question or If you need something, feel free to ask. So
are you guys ready for this amazing trip? Alright, let’s start the trip.
Ladies and getnlemen, Indonesia is a country located in Southeast Asia, and also famous for
its strategic location, because Indonesia is flanked by 2 continents (asia and Australia) and 2
oceans (Pacific and Hindia Ocean), and it also directly adjacent to 7 countries, Malaysia,
Singapore, and Brunei on the north, Timor Leste, Australia on the south and Papua New Guinea
on the east. Geographycally Indonesia have more than seventeen thousand island, with 5 big
Island sucah as Java, Sumatera, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua, making Indonesia as the
world’s largest island country and world the 14th largest country by land area with 1.904.569
squre kilometerse land area. Indonesia also well known as the 4th most largest population
country, with more than 270 millions citizen in the country.
As the 4th most largest country in case of Population, of course there are many diversity and
uniqness among the people of Indonesia, one one form of this difference is religion. There are
6 official religon that acknowledge by the goverment, Islam, Christian, Catholic, Hindu,
Buddha, and Confucianism. However, the Indonesian people themselves are proud of this
diversity, and have a strong sense of tolerance and unity on those diversity. As the country with
the most the largest number of Island too, Indonesia has among the most diverse variety species
of animal life on land and in the seas found anywhere in the world. Indonesias flora and fauna
is divided by the Wallace Line that runs between Bali and Lombok, continuing north between
Kalimantan and Sulawesi. West of the Line, vegetation and wildlife are Asian in nature,
whereas east of the Line, these resemble those of Australia. Meanwhile the middle part of the
line is known as the transitional part, where most of the Flora’s and Fauna in this part are
authentic or only can be found in Indonesia such as Komodo Drgon, Anoa,Tarsius and many
more. One of the authentic Indonesian animal, that is Garuda Bird, has become the mascots
country. Indonesia is a republic country with a presidential system of government and
parliamentary character, Indonesia have two main district which is central and regional
government. In central government, there are executive branch the house of president and vice
president, legislative branch the house of representative for all the Indonesian people, and
yudicial branch who is in charge of maintaining the implementation of the law. In regional
government, there is mayor who monitoring and control the area.

Now let’s move to Jakarta, where we are now. Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia. It is
located on the northwest coast of Java (the world's most populous island). Jakarta is the centre
of the economy, culture and politics of Indonesia. In 2020, It had around population of
10,562,088 people with diverse ethnic group backgrounds from all over Indonesia. During the
day, the number increases with commuters making their way to work in the city and flock out
again in the evenings. Jakarta covers 699.5 square kilometres area, the smallest among any
Indonesian provinces. However, its metropolitan area covers 6,392 square kilometres. This city
is divided into 5 districts, namely Jakarta Pusat, Jakarta Utara, Jakarta Barat, Jakarta Timur,
and Jakarta Selatan. The term ‘Jabodetabek’ refers to Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi
- the Greater Jakarta area consists of megacities surrounding the capital. Jakarta is also well
known as a city with many historical heritage, such as Kota Tua and Monas (Monumen
Nasional). Many tourist attraction, such as Dufan (Dunia Fantasi), TMII and Ancol Bay. It also
well known as the city of culinary, since you can find almost any kind of Indonesian food in
Jakarta, from the cheap street food to a high class restaurant. If you want to hanging around
Jakarta, there are many of public transportation that are available such as TransJakarta, taxi,
taxibike, bajaj, MRT, LRT, and KRL. But the easiest way to tranport in Jakarta is by using
online transportation, like grab and gojek.
Next, I will tell you a few things about the hotel that you are staying at. Raffles Jakarta Hotel
is 5 star hotel, located at Ciputra World, Prof. DR. Satria street, Karet Kuningan, Central
Jakarta. This sophisticated high-rise hotel is 7 km from both the National Museum of Indonesia
and Taman Ismail Marzuki, an art, culture and science center. Featuring floor-to-ceiling
windows, the stylish rooms come with free Wi-Fi and flat-screens, as well as minibars and
coffeemakers. Upgraded rooms include sitting areas, while suites add separate living rooms,
private gyms and steam rooms. An upgraded suite offers 2 bedrooms and a grand piano. Butler
service is available. Breakfast is included. Other amenities consist of a glitzy eatery, a bar, and
an outdoor pool with a poolside bar. There are also a chic spa and a gym.
About time difference between Jakarta and London ( United Kingdom Time (BST)) Jakarta is
6 hours ahead than London. Currently in Jakarta the time is showing at 10.00 am, so please
make sure that you adjust it with your phone or watch.
In Indonesia our currency is rupiah in the form of coins and banknotes. The currency exchange
rate now is 19.976 Indonesian Rupiah for 1 Poundsterling. If you want to exchange your money
you can go to the money changer in Ciputra World Mall that is located as the same building as
your hotel, there are store called Indochanger in the ground floor. For tipping in Indonesia is
not mandatory. However, if you want to tip, perhaps provide 5-10% of the total bill. Some
restaurant will include 5-10% service charge to their bill. But if they don’t have any service
charge, you can tip between 10.000 rupiah – 10% of the total bill.
Next I will tell you about the shopping tips and trick here. In jakarta you can go shopping by
going to a mall or a supermarket, and by going to a traditional market. If you go to a mall or
supermarket, there are a lots of stuff but it is a little bit expensive, but you can use any kind of
payment methods in here, like debit/credit cards, mobile payment, and cash. Meanwhile if you
go shopping to a traditional market, the price maybe a little bit cheaper than the mall, but you
have to be very carefull when selecting items, because there are some scams here. In traditional
market you can also bargain price of an item to the seller. Here are some tips from me when
you want to try bargaining in traditional market. First, know the item, make sure it is original
anad not a scam. Second, know the market price, you can know the market price by asking
some different seller or using the internet. Third, Initiate bargaining by asking something like,
"Is that your best price?" and you can also stated your demand price. During the bargaining
process, take a polite, positive approach where possible, offering a sound rationale for the seller
to meet you at a happy medium. Last, If all the other tactics have failed and the vendor still
won’t meet you within your budget, then walk away. Don’t look back. I’ve done this many
times and then heard the sweet sounds of the vendor calling. It’s hard to pass up a willing
buyer! So give them a reason want to make the sale. By the way in the traditional market most
of the seller are only still using cash for the payment maethod, so prepare your cash amount if
you want to shop here. There are also some caution or appeal when you go to public area in
Jakarta, that you have to know and obey. First, you have to wear your mask wherever you go.
Second do not litter. And Then, take care of your own belongings from the pickpocket.
I will also give you an information about many recommended places for tourist destination. I
have so many highly recommendation of tourism object in jakarta, which has a very unique
and amazing atraction, such as DUFAN (Dunia Fantasy), Jakarta Aquarium, Taman Mini
Indonesia Indah (TMII), Angke Kapuk Mangrove Nature Tourism, and National Monument.
And for the culinary section, If you want to go street food Culinary I recommended you to go
to Blok M, Blok S, Pasar Santa or to a street food festival, there are many varieties of steert
food from all over Indonesia in those places. For fine Dining, I recommended you to go to
ancol sky dining, le petite chef, and Kayangan Restaurant. For the shopping center, you can go
to Plaza Indonesia or Grand Indonesia, which is the two biggest mall in all of Indonesia. Or if
you want to shopping in traditional market, I recommended to go to Blok M or Mayestik.
Alright ladies and gentlement, in a few minutes our ride will arrived at Raffles Hotel. As our
itinerary for today came to the end. Don’t forget to take an enough rest because tommorow, we
are going to DUFAN (dunia Fantasy), and to Ancol Bay, which requires a lot of energy. And
