The characters sink further with each wave that the filmmaker employs as a metaphor, from
Alisha and Zain's affair to family backstories. While the film's first half is carried by the sea
breeze, it is in the second half that life takes a nasty turn, not just romantically, but also
professionally. Deepika Padukone is the captain of this journey and goes deep and pulls out

triggers, the film's narrative and makers are mindful to not go overboard but show enough
to stir emotions. The film's dialogues further add substance to the screenplay combined
with its thoughtful background music.
