Literature Review

(An Assessment of the Impact of COVID-19 on Job and Skills Demand Using Online Job Vacancy Data, 2021) This policy brief examines
the impact of COVID-19 on skills demand in five OECD countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and
the United States) between January and November 2020. The epidemic, as well as containment and mitigation measures aimed to
limit its spread, had a major but uneven influence on the demand for skills. By early May, the total volume of online job postings
had dropped by more than half in all nations studied compared to the start of the year, with even bigger drops in some sectors.
However, the demand for certain talents in the healthcare and logistics sectors has increased. There is also evidence of a rise in job
openings including remote work arrangements. The short also demonstrates that the crisis affected individuals with varying
degrees of educational qualifications differently, and that this effect varies among the countries studied.

extraordinary skills in their employees. Recruiters are making use of virtual software’s while
recruiting which will maintain social distancing. Employers are also using AI and Predictive
analysis which ensures smart recruiting practices. There are many ups and down in businesses
Post covid Nothing is still the graph is also going up and down which has also resulted into
employment. The CMIE data allows us to examine the age breakdown of those who are
unemployed but actively looking for work (UEWL), and the surprising trend we discover is
that while 15-19-year-olds and 20-29-year-olds suffer higher percentage job losses, there is no
corresponding increase in their UEWL numbers. As a result, the UEWL numbers for older age
groups (50 and up) rise dramatically.
