A haiku is a form of traditional Japanese poetry that emphasizes


simplicity, intensity, and directness of expression. It is made up of
17 syllables in total, broken up over three lines and usually written in
the present tense.
1st line: 5 syllables 2nd line: 7 syllables 3rd line: 5 syllables
