Wilhelm Wundt (1832-1920) is considered the founder of experimental psychology and is recognized as
one of the most influential figures in the history of psychology. He was born in Germany and studied at
the University of Leipzig, where he later established himself as a professor of philosophy.

Wundt founded the first psychology laboratory in 1879 at the University of Leipzig, where he began to
conduct experiments and study mental processes and perception. He believed that psychology should
be a rigorous scientific discipline based on experiments and observation, and that the understanding of
the mind and human behavior should be approached through an empirical and objective approach.

Wundt was also a proponent of the study of consciousness and introspection as a method for
