Wundt founded the first psychology laboratory in 1879 at the University of Leipzig, where he began to
conduct experiments and study mental processes and perception. He believed that psychology should
be a rigorous scientific discipline based on experiments and observation, and that the understanding of
the mind and human behavior should be approached through an empirical and objective approach.

understanding mental processes. His work includes important studies on perception, memory, thought
and consciousness.

introduced are still relevant and studied today.

In short, Wilhelm Wundt is a key figure in the history of psychology and his work has been instrumental
in establishing psychology as a rigorous and experimental scientific discipline.
