What This Module is About
This module allows you to broaden your knowledge of what you have listened from any
form of information and be able to share your own perspective and thoughts about it through
different means of communication.
In addition, this will develop your critical thinking skills through sharing one’s view about
personal opinion. Learnings gain from this sharing will increase appreciation on the importance
of life.

Read or listen carefully to the song and share your point of view by answering the
questions below. Write your answers in your activity notebook.

2. Pay attention! Give your full attention to the speaker. You cannot communicate if both
parties are not actively involved in the process.
3. Read nonverbal cues. Along with hearing and processing the words of the speaker,
you should pay careful attention to the nonverbal language being communicated.
Watch for eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, posture changes, and any physial
responses (i.e., fidgeting).
4. Ask questions. A good way to ensure that you have accurately understood the
message is to ask questions
5. Resist distractions. Stop doodling! Do not shuffle papers, draw, or doodle when you
are listening.
6. Don’t interrupt! Even though you may get angry or upset by something the speaker
says, do not interrupt. Let the speaker finish, and resist the temptation to focus on your
emotional response to the speaker’s words.
7. Open your mind. Try to look at the situation from the speaker’s point of view and not
just your own. Be flexible.
8. Paraphrase. Use your own words to mirror what you have heard. Restating
information in your own words helps you to remember what you have heard

Let any adult in the family to read the poem for you. Listen very carefully and
explain the message of the poem through a drawing in a short bond paper. Be guided
with the rubrics.

1. “Perfect” is a song by Canadian rock band Simple Plan. This song is about a child
telling his/her parents that he/she was not born perfect and can never be perfect in
life. On the other hand, his/her parents never supported his/her plans he/she made
in life but despite their refusal to support him/her, he/she uses the song to further tell
them that he’s/she’s not perfect and will never be and that he’s/she’s sorry for being
unable to be perfect for them. (Answers may vary)
2. Try to understand why. Parents, being older, have probably seen the problems that
come with possibly negative path. Even though our parents may seem annoying, they

1. I have realized that listening skills are very important in order to obtain the information
correctly. In addition, it is hard to listen carefully if the surroundings are not conducive
and if the words being spoken are not clear and properly pronounced.
If given a chance I will share my knowledge about the tips of active listening to my
fellow. Such as, if finding difficult to concentrate on what someone is saying, try
repeating his or her words mentally as he says, this will reinforce his message and
help you to stay focused.(Answers may vary)

1. It is nice to have a friend but if he/she will have a mistake made, and wanted me to cover
him, I will not do it for I don’t want to double the mistake he/she made. (Answers may vary)
3. I would let my mom felt happy all the time, I won’t argue on her, however I will justify my
ideas nicely. (Answers may vary)
