About the Institution

Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, India - a religious minority Secretary and Correspondent
institution, was founded in the year 1951. From a humble beginning seven decades ago, Hajee. M. J. Jamal Mohamed
the college has grown from strength to strength and is presently a multi-disciplinary Treasurer
institution offering higher education at the tertiary and research level to a large section Dr. K. Abdus Samad
of society. The college was granted autonomy status by the UGC, Government of Tamil Assistant Secretary
Nadu and Bharathidasan University, (to which it is affiliated), from the academic year
2004-2005 and was accredited with ‘A’ Grade (3rdCycle) by NAAC during 2015-2016.

The Department of Physics with its excellent infrastructural and laboratory facilities Principal
and well qualified staff, is offering UG, PG, M. Phil. and Ph. D. courses. Taking advantage of
the autonomy granted to the college and in cognizance of the emerging trends in Physics Conference President Prof. S. Gunasekaran, Ph.D., D.Sc.
research and education, the department has been introducing new courses catering to the Founder President, ISPA
academic and employment aspirations of its students. It has entered into partnership (MOUs)
