Random Variable - A random variable assign a real number to. in a sample space. every outcome

Sample space - is a collection of all activity the possible outcomes of a statistical activity

Discrete Random Variable - the underlying characteristics being measured is discrete finite or countably
infinite.

Continuous Random Variable - A RV for which the underlying characteristics being measured is
continuous.

* mass, distance, area, volume, pressure, voltage

Probability Distribution -A probability distribution assigns probability to the sample space of statistical
process such that:

1) All probabilities are greater than equal to 20

2) The total probability of sample space is 1
3) The probability of the union of disjoint events is the sum up their individual probabilities

Discrete Probability Distribution - assigns a probability to every possible outcome in s.

Continuous Probability Distribution - assign a probability to every range of values of X.

*A discrete problem, assign a probability to every possible outcome in S.
