Assessment Checkpoint 3 – Submission file (100 marks total)
Instruction: Complete all questions, then submit back to your teacher, through LMS.
Attach a picture of your plan view sketch of a suitable chassis shape that fits within a
square of 140mm as shown in the WB P.87:
After Obtaining the physical components from your teacher and placing them within a
square of 140mm as shown in the WB P.88, attach a picture of your plan view sketch of
a suitable chassis shape:
A. Create a new Fusion 360 design. Insert and position all the required components
of a simple Arduino robot inside a 140mm x 140mm construction square. Use
this CAD model to complete a sketch of a chassis plan view in the provided
140mm square shown in the WB P.89. (10 marks)
Advantage Disadvantage
Open your Fusion 360 chassis design. Define the position of 2 motors using rigid joints.
Place all other components on the chassis also. Paste an image of your chassis
assembled with all the components below or a share link of CAD solution.
Complete a 3D model of a chassis showing all motors in place and a suitable method of
stabilising the chassis. Paste an image of the completed 3D model below or a share link
of CAD solution.
Add motor mounts to your 3D model from activity 3.2.6. Use your knowledge of the
combine tool to ensure the mounts are combined to the chassis to be 3D printed as
one part. Paste an image of your 3D model below or a share link of CAD solution.
Novice, the CAD design showed limited experience in using some of the studied essential tools. 4-5 marks
Intermediate, the CAD design showed a good application where the design included some basic 6-7 marks
modification tools (e.g., fillet, chamfer etc.) and included basic joints to the components.
Advanced. the CAD design showed an excellent application where the design includes some level of 8 marks
personal interpretation and application of advanced modelling tools.
Save this completed document, then submit back to your teacher through LMS:
Save your file using the naming convention: ‘CP3 - <your student id>.docx’
For example, if your student id is 25678, then your file name would be: CP3 - 25678.docx
