Guidelines for VII Semester Industrial Training

SIX MONTHS’ INDUSTRIAL TRAINING FOR B.TECH 7th SEMESTER

MONITORING AND EVALUATION METHODOLOGY

Dear Student,

Your Software & Industry Oriented Project Training has been scheduled from 1st July 2023 to 30th
November 2023. You should sincerely work hard to draw the optimum out of this training.

1. Joining/Confirmation letter and Synopsis

You will be required to submit the joining / confirmation letter along with the synopsis, giving the
details of the technology and associated tools you will be working upon. A report containing the
detailsof the software and project undertaken is to be submitted separately. An Industry Oriented Project
Training that will be based on the technologies learnt in software training is also to be carried out in the
period mentioned above. Both the trainings are to be completed within the above-mentioned time span.

2. Submission of Training Progress Report

The training progress report is to be submitted as per the following schedule to the class in-charge:

 Confirmation letter by 23rd June 2023.

 Synopsis Report by 21st July 2023
 First Progress Report (based on Software Training) by 25th August 2023.
 Second Report (based on Industry Oriented Project Training) 6th October 2023.
 Third and Final Report (based on both the trainings) by 15th November 2023.

The first and second progress reports will be 10-15 pages each whereas final report will be 50-
60 pages. The format of the report along with the layout of the cover page is given in Appendix
‘A’ & ‘B’ attached. The final report shall also carry a certificate from the training manager
mentioning the duration of the training or an Online Course completion certificate (12-16
weeks).
3. Monitoring and Evaluation of the Industrial Training

This will be done as under: -

a. Training Manager Report The training manager will be required to make two reports of
each student on the Evaluation sheet attached in Appendix C’ and Appendix ‘D’. It will be the
responsibility of each student to submit the evaluation sheet duly signed and stamped by the
training manager along with the report to be submitted as per the schedule above. Finally, three
reports will be taken into consideration for evaluation. The first and second progress report will
be of 25 marks each and the final report will be of 50 marks.
b. Monitoring by the Faculty: Faculty will carry out one or two surprise visits or may contact
you and your manager telephonically. They will evaluate you out of 25 marks for Software
Training and 50 marks for Industry Oriented Project Training as per Appendix ‘E and F’.
c. Project Report and Seminar (Report Presentation): Each student group would be required to
give a presentation of the work carried out by him/her along with the project execution. They would be
required to bring their laptop for this. Presentation will be held and the schedule for presentation would
be shared later. Students who are working on live projects will have to show snap shots of the project
developed by him/her in the training period.
d. External viva-voce: External viva of 100 marks for Software Training and 200 marks for Industry-
Oriented Project Training will be held in December 2023.

4. The student is advised to ensure total sincerity, dedication, and devotion towards the smooth and
efficient conduct of his training.
