TITLE:- Lamp Dimmer Circuit(Darlington Pair)

AIM:
Prove that current gain when two transistors connected in darlington pair is more than the
gain of individual transistors.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
BJT (bi-polar junction transistor), RPS, Diode, Breadboard, Lamp, Potentiometer, Wires
THEORY:
A darlington pair is two transistors that act as an single transistor but with a much higher
current gain. This mean that a tiny amount of current from the sensor, micro-controller or
similar can be used to derive a larger load.
In some applications the amount of input current available to switch on a transistor is very
low. This mean that a single transistor may not be able to provide sufficient current gain to
the load, but this can be achieved using the darlington pair.
For darlington pair-
Total current gain = current gain of transistor 1* current gain of transistor*2
If current gain of one transistor is = 100
Than total current gain = 100*100
= 10000

OBSERVATIONS:

RESULT:

Thus the current gain in Darlington pair is greater than the current gain of the
individual transistors.
