STRIPED CABLE BLANKET

© Annemarie Benthem
Hello!

Thank you for buying one of my patterns. On this page I'll tell you about the materials you need to make this
blanket and everything else you need to know before you get started.

For this pattern you will need:

- A crochet hook, size 4mm.
- A sewing needle.
- A pair of scissors.

This is the yarn I used:

Drops Paris in Heather 07 (1 ball), White 16 (5), Light Pink 20 (2 balls), Medium Pink 33 (1 ball)and Shocking
Pink 06 (2 balls). You will need 1 extra ball of yarn for the edging. I used Shocking Pink so in total I had 3
balls of Shocking Pink.
Here you will find more information about this yarn: http://www.lovecrochet.com/drops-paris
This is an alternative yarn that you can use: http://www.lovecrochet.com/rico-creative-sport-dk

Of course you can use any other yarn you like, but please note that different yarns can make your blanket
larger or smaller. The size of this blanket is 23.5” wide and 28.5” long.

If you would like to adjust the size of this blanket, make sure you always have a starting chain that has a
multiple of 3 + 4 chains. So I used a starting chain of 90 (which can be divided by 3) + 4.
You will need approximately 1 ball of Drops Paris for 6 rows of stitches if you make the blanket in the size of
this pattern.

All my patterns are in US crochet terms. I use the following abbreviations:

CH: chain
SS: slip stitch
SC: single crochet
DC: double crochet

If the pattern says: “ 9DC” it means you have to do 1DC in each of the next 9 stitches.
If the patterns says: “CH3” it counts as 1DC unless it is clearly stated otherwise in the pattern.

Well, this should be a good start for your lovely blanket project! Should you have any questions, don't
hesitate to contact me. I'm happy to help you out if necessary. You can reach me at:

Now continue in the same color scheme starting from row 1. Add as many rows a you like. In total I had 27
rows (note: 1 row is a row of DC + a row of cable stitches). When I had 27 rows (my last row was in shocking
pink) I started working on the edging.
THE EDGING
Don’t fasten off after the last DC but change color to a color for the edging. I used Shocking Pink for the
edging.
1. 2 SC in every DC on the first side of the blanket (108SC in total). Once you’ve reached the corner chain 1.
1 SC in each of the stitches of the bottom row (92SC). Chain 1 and do 2 SC in every DC on the other side as
well (108SC). Chain 1 in the corner, 1SC in each stitch of the top row (92SC). Chain 1.
* 1SC, 1HDC, chain 1, 1DC, chain 1, 1HDC, 1SC.* Repeat what’s in between * until you have 3 stitches left.
Do 3SC, chain 1 and continue the same stitches in between * along the bottom until you have 2 stitches
left. Do 2SC, chain 1 and continue the same stitches between * along the other side until you have 3
stitches left. Do 3SC, chain 1 and continue the same stitches between along the top row until you have 2
stitches left. Do 2SC, do 1SLST and fasten off.

Last but not least

Designing crochet patterns is a time-consuming and difficult job. I'd love to see you make as many blankets
as you like. But please do not make copies of this pattern, don’t distribute this pattern, don’t share it and
don’t sell it as if it is your design. If you post your own blanket somewhere on the WorldWideWeb, I’d love
it if you refer to my blog or shop. Enjoy!
