North Dakota is one of the nation’s midwestern states.

It's located in the north-central United States. To the north
are Canada’s provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
To the south is South Dakota. Montana lies to the west,
and Minnesota is on the east. North Dakota's capital,
Bismarck, is on the east bank of the Missouri River.
Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks, Minot, and Mandan are
the state’s largest cities.
