Discussion Concepts in Questions
1.) What do you think is the best practice to follow when dressing for a job interview?
•1. Wearing an appropriate dress is important. Wearing a suitable dress that is fit for the
interviewees sexual orientation is pleasing to the interviewers eyes. Picking not too
fancy clothes and wearing less accessories aside from watches is a necessity. It allows
you to look presentable and pleasing to the interviewer, with chances of being accepted
due to formality and organized manner.
2.) In what professional presentations would you want to dress formally? Business
casual? Casual?
• 2. Any professional presentation requires formality in providing appealing appearance
to impose professionalism and at the same time boost one's confidence in presenting.
Although it depends on who an individual is presenting, and also the location to set the
vibe and atmosphere coming from just looking.
3.) Aside from the examples listed previously, what are some other things to
generally avoid, in terms of dress and appearance, when trying to present
yourself as a credible and competent communicator/speaker?
•3. First that I would like to emphasize is avoid dressing more than what you are about
to present. Attention, focus and understanding is our goal in presenting. So picking the
wrong ideal dress in that presentation may become a distraction to the listeners.
Second thing is showing off is nice but showing much isn’t, specially on proposing
something or a deal, this type of presentation requires dragging the audience into your
place to understand the worth of what’s in it. So basically, showing much might get the
audience to hesitate since what you are presenting is opposite to what you are as a
presenter.
4.) In what ways do you think you can conform to business-casual expectations
while still preserving your individuality?
•4. Formality is the key. In any business affiliated presentation, the presenter matters.
Not just on how professionally she/he presents but also on how they prefer to look. All
presenters must bear in mind that in every presentation, a presenter must be ready and
presentable. Ready in the sense that they are confident about their upcoming
performance and also to how they look.
