1. What is ‘’Drawing’’ ?

In common say or words ‘Drawing’’ is the art of representing an

object or outlining a figure,plan or sketch by means of lines. A
drawing can also refers to a picture made with a pencil, pen , or
crayon rather than paint. Drawing uses various instruments like
pencils ,pen and ink,wax colour pencils, crayons, inked brushes
and charcoal and various surface such as paper, cardboard or
canvas.
While digital drawing is the act of drawing on graphics
software in a computer or through common methods of digital
drawing which include a stylus or finger on a touchscreen
device known as a graphic tablet

2. What is ‘Painting’’?
Painting is the practice of applying colour to a solid surface
such as a paper or canvas. It is one of the oldest art forms. The
colour pigments used in a painting can be in a wet form, like
paints such as water colour, acrylic, oil and fresco, or a dry
form, like pastels.The medium is usually applied to the solid
surface with use of brush,sponges ,knives and airbrushes.
While graphical painting is the emerging of art form in
which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oiols,
impasto,etc are applied using digital tools by means of
computer,softwares, a graphics tablet and stylus.
 COMMON MEYHODS USE OR TOOLS USE FOR PAINTING AND
DRAWING IN COMPUTER GRAPHICS

Common methods of digital drawing and painting include:

i) By use software programs for drawing and painting in
computers using a mouse as cursor or pencil
ii) By use of a stylus or finger or finger to touchpad devices
iii) By use of graphic tablet which is also know as a digitizer, pen
tablet, drawing tablet, external drawing pad or digital art
board. It is a computer input device that enables a user to
hand-draw images, animations and graphics, with a
specialpen-like stylus similar to the way a person draws
images with a pencil and paper

We have Adobe photoshop and Adobe Illustrator which are

currently two of the top pragrams used in productions of
digital paintings , Artweaver 7, Clip Studio Paint Pro
,MediBang Paint Pro etc
Some Software use in digital drawing are Adobe
photoshop CC which is still considered as the best drawing
software in market, CorelDraw, Affinity Designer, DrawPlus,
Clip Studio Paint.
 Importance or benefits of painting
i) Painting boots self-esteem and inspires people to reach new
levels of skill
ii) The reward of growing and expanding artistic skills creates a
sense of accomplishment
iii) Builds problem solving and motor skills that is what the artist
imagines when beginning often changes drastically during
the painting process, due to color limitations or unexpected
outcomes that occur during artistic implementation. The
artistic vision evolves during the painting process, building
 important problem-solving skills,thinking outside the box
becomes second nature to a painter
