Castlevania -Lords of Shadow- PS3 (and X360) Walkthrough

by WishingTikal

http://www.youtube.com/WishingTikal

"The year is 1022.

These are dark times, times without hope. The world is in darkness. A powerful
spell has been cast that has isolated our world from the heavens. The souls of
the dead cannot find peace and roam amongst the living. Creatures of nightmare
attack relentlessly by day and night. People live in fear. The Brotherhood of
Light are a holy order whose sole pupose is to defeat the forces of the
supernatural. The order sends one of their best to investigate the recent
attacks on the populace." (konami official site)

In this latest Castlevania installment, you take the role of Gabriel Belmont,
sent by the order to investigate the creatures of nightmare. Gabriel's quest
however develops into something of much higher purposes as he travels towards
his objective. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow takes new directions, switching
from 2D to 3D, and taking a more God of War-style approach. This may not please
old-time fans of the series, but the end product still is very epic, and may
draw in some new fans. Although the game is linear in nature, they are several
hidden objects and upgrades to find, so scroll down for more...

CHAPTER 1

I-I
Besieged Village

"Gabriel fought the horde of Lycanthropes in the hope

of freeing the small village from the siege."

After the introduction, you will be faced against a pack of werewolves at the
village's gate. Dispose of them with or , then replenish your health with R2
at the pedestal. Throw daggers with at incoming wolves and dispatch the rest.
You can grab and kill them with R2. Now defeat enemies until you amass 25
experience points. Buy the Guillotine skill from your book and use it against
the rest of the werewolves. A larger wolf will then break into the village.
Block with L2 and and dodge with the control stick when prompted. Attack the
beast until you defeat it and press R2 to end the battle and tutorial.

I-II
Hunting Path

"As they raced through the forest, Gabriel and his mysterious companion
heard the baying of the Wargs chasing them."

The level will start with horse riding. Press or to attack your pursuers
until you cross a bridge and fall off the horse. Block the incoming werewolf's
attack with L2 with the right timing and then press while still blocking to
defeat it. Now retrace your steps back to find a fallen knight on the ground.
Press R2 next to it to collect your first Life Gem. The horse ride will then
continue. You will fall off a little further down the path; defeat the enemies
on the ground, then the horse will come pick you up to end the level.
I-III
The Dead Bog

"Mosquitoes and insects buzzed everywhere

in the damp ground of the Dead Bog."

At the entrance of the level, examine the fallen knight corpse with R2 to find
your second Life Gem. The next corpse ahead holds a scroll. Climb the ledge on
the left to get across and face some goblins. Pick up grenades with R2 to throw
them at the goblins, then dispatch the rest with regular attacks. Now you'll
need to cross the swamp, but you can only walk in the dark green water (the
poisonous fog around will kill you). Also avoid the whirlpools or the creature
will get you. When you get to the platform in the middle of the water, start by
going right first and drop down at the end of the path. You can now cross the
water ahead or go right through a tunnel. Go right first to retrieve a Life Gem
from the fallen knight there. Now take the path forward and there will be
another fork. Go left and cross the water to find another corpse with a Life
Gem. Continue left across the water and keep on following the way forward to
find another fallen knight who holds a scroll this time. There's also a health
shrine up the steps on the left if you need. Ahead you will drop off the path
to a goblin infested area.

Grab one with R2 and hit it when the outside circle gets inside the smaller one
on the screen to make it drop its grenade. Pick up the grenade with R2 and
throw it at the large tree in the back. Repeat the process a second time to
make the tree fall so you can cross. Walk left into the swamp to find a scroll
on the corpse, then follow the path forward to a split in the road. Right leads
to some health; left is your destination. Climb up inside the crumbled temple
using the ledges on the left wall and examine the altar to collect a new
weapon. Press R2 to grab the grip point and push up to climb up the wall. Press
one of the attack buttons to smash through the window.

Outside, you will get attacked by a troll. Avoid its stomps by jumping and take
its health down with normal attacks until you are prompted to grab it with R2.
Time your attacks to hit it when the large circle is inside the small one, then
press the attack button shown to defeat it. Collect your reward (with R2), then
use the grip point to leave the area. Follow the path down to a health shrine,
then go right and use the ledges as instructed to climb down. After moving
right, the ledge will collapse. Jump over to the next ledge on the right
(ignore the grip point for now), then drop down and examine the corpse to
obtain the final Life Gem. Get back up and work your way across the chasm using
the grip points until you reach the other side, which marks the end if this
level.

I-IV
Pan's Temple

"The peaceful and magical forest surrounded Gabriel with

a mantle of lush vegetation and watchful eyes."

Examine the carving at the entrance to release a symbol. You will need to find
four others like this one. Head up the path until the camera changes angle to
find another one ahead. Also examine the fallen knight a little further down to
get a scroll. Now walk to the right of the clearing. Before going forward, hug
the right side to find a hidden path with the third carving, and a fallen
knight holding a Life Gem at the end of the pathway. Then return to the
clearing and follow the way north to find the fourth carving just before the
lake, plus another scroll on the corpse on the other side of the water. Now go
inside the giant tree. You can't get the item on the left yet, but there's the
last carving on the right side. Walk up to the amulet at the back and change
the symbols so they match the ones you found. After the gate opens, head in and
climb up to the top of the tree to meet up with Pan. After the scene, you will
need to solve a puzzle within a time limit. The solution is as follow: press R2
twice on the large circle, R2 once for the middle circle, and R2 twice on the
smallest circle. This will complete the level.

I-V
Oblivion Lake

"A cold chill wind blowed through Gabriel's heart

as he entered Oblivion Lake."

Head forward and examine the fallen knight next to the broken statue to find a
Life Gem. Then drop down on the frozen lake and walk up to a boss battle. The
fight against the Ice Titan is similar to those from Shadow of the Colossus. At
the beginning of the battle, just let the titan attack while you get closer to
it and dodge its attacks. Eventually, one of its arms will stay stuck in the
ice. Get close to it and press R2 to grip to it. Then start climbing up. When
the game prompts you to, press R2 to grab onto the titan. Keep on climbing to
find the first rune and hit it a couple of times to destroy it. Once on top of
the arm, move away to dodge the titan's punch. Press R2 to grip to the hand,
then to the chest. Move left to destroy the second rune, then grip to the
titan's chin once it's destroyed. If the titan grabs you and throws you off,
just climb back up. You will then be on its back. Move down, then right to
destroy the third rune, then climb up and grip the top of its head. Go right,
then down and right again to find the last rune where its ear should be.
Destroy it to finish him off.

CHAPTER 2

II-I
Enchanted Forest

"And so it begins, he delved towards the remains

of an ancient civilization, as old as the forest itself."

Start climbing down the cliff at the tip of the area, using the hook to haul
yourself down until you spot another grip point on the left. Hook to that one
to cross, get the scroll from the body, then drop down to the river below.
Continue right until the game introduces you to light magic. Get the hang of
it, then jump down the cliff. Replenish your magic at the statue with L3, then
continue forward to encounter more goblins on your path. After disposing of
them, you will come to a ruined courtyard with two ways. They both lead to the
same area, but if you want to collect everything, go right and jump down into
the water surrounding the place. At the back of the ditch is a fallen knight
holding a Light Magic Gem.

Now climb back up on the right and pull down the big tree with R2 to cross
using the grip point afterwards. Once in the area behind, follow the trail and
collect the scroll from the fallen knight across the bridge, then go straight
north to the facade. Climb up using the grip point and break through the round
window. Pick up the Focus Scroll in the center, then defeat the beast using
focus. Goblins will then start coming in. Grab one of the grenades they throw
at you and toss it at the breakable wall in the back. Throw a second one to get
rid of the wall and proceed down the path. Go right where the trail splits to
find a fallen soldier with a scroll on him, then jump over the wall on the left
and start climbing up the tower remains using the ledges and grip points. When
you get to the top of the cliff, use the hook on the tree branch to swing over
to the mount and complete the level.

II-II
Underground Caves
"There was the strong possibility of getting lost
inside these treacherous caves, or much worse..."

Proceed forward through the cave and shimmy along the ledges to cross the chasm
ahead. On the other side you will get attacked by a giant spider. After
defeating it, use the hook to get further into the cave and use the next grip
point to go down. A bunch of goblins and another spider await you at the
bottom. Dispose of them, then jump up into the tunnel in the wall on the right.
Use the grip point and ledges to work your way to the other side and walk along
the cob web to find a fallen knight holding a scroll. The path will then lead
you to a two-ways area. Start by crossing the northern cob web and defeat the
spider on the other side. Then climb up the back wall using the ledges and
follow the path to a corpse holding a runic stone key. After picking it up,
drop down and place the key into one of the slots next to the large gate. Now
cross the cob web on the left. If you jump over to the area on the right and
climb up the cliff, you can find a body with a scroll.

Back at the gate, cross the cob webs on the left and follow the path all the
way to a breakable door on the right. Goblins will start coming in after you
examine the door. Grab their grenades and throw them at the door to break it
down. Behind you will find a fallen knight holding the second runic stone key.
Defeat the spider waiting for you outside and return to the large gate. Place
the key into the remaining slot to open it up. Inside the temple, check the
altar to upgrade your cross to the spiked chain. With this upgrade, backtrack
to the area where you got the second runic key and head right into the tunnel
there. You should find a totem which you can pull (R2) using your new weapon.
Behind is a corpse hiding a Light Magic Gem. Now return to the temple and
follow the passageway behind the altar. Pull the totem (R2) to clear the way
and use the hook on the grip point above to leave the underground caves.

II-III
Labyrinth Entrance

"The Waterfalls of Agharta hid a magnificient

labyrinth of ruins perfect for a deadly ambush."

Drop down from the tunnel and examine the large door blocking your way to
trigger an event. Defeat the warhog and ride it using R2. You can now break
through the sealed door by ramming into it. Stand back and simply run into the
door twice to take it down. Dispose of the rest of the goblins, then get off
the warhog by strangling it and head right to find a body holding a scroll.
Continue left and start climbing the wall, using the grip point to get to the
top. There, cross the wooden planks and check the fallen knight at the back to
find another scroll. Jump down into the gap on the right of the knight to fall
into a cave below which has another knight with a Light Magic Gem. Then head
back up and go left. Jump to the ledge, then shimmy across to the other
side.

Go left again, and grab the ledge below. Hook yourself to the grip point above
and jump off the wall to get across the chasm. Follow the way down and press R2
to rotate the door mechanism. Warhogs will come out to attack you. Get rid of
them, then quickly spin the mechanism (backwards) to lift the door open before
more warhogs come out. In the next area, proceed forward to the inside of the
building and go left. You can't destroy the wall on the right yet. Leap across
the pit to reach an arena. Dispose of the goblins and defeat the Lycanthrope.
Afterwards, pick up the lever from the ground and carry it to the door
mechanism. Spin it around and the ground will collapse, taking you to the next
area.

II-IV
Waterfalls of Agharta

"Gabriel had to find a way back to the upper levels

of the city, but enemies approached from all sides."

Get the scroll from the fallen knight at the entrance, then proceed right to a
larger area. You will get attacked by a spider as you head down. After
weakening it, you will be able to ride it with R2. Once you have control over
the spider, approach the tree on the right and press to pull it down. After
which, you can kill the spider (L2+R2) to obtain a Light Magic Gem. Use the
grip point on the tree to cross and go left. Hook yourself across the gap, then
climb up the wall and continue left. Jump over the waterfall and you will then
reach an area with more lycanthropes. After defeating them, get the scroll from
the fallen soldier on the left, then go right. At the tip of the area, press R2
to grab the statue in the rockface and pull it apart. Hook yourself to the grip
point and head down. Continue right to get attacked by a troll and some
goblins. Weaken the troll until you get the opportunity to ride it.

You can now break the boulder blocking the path with a few hits. Then kill off
the troll and use the grip point to cross over. In the area, refill your health
at the shrine, then take the right path. Walk through the waterfall to find a
corpse behind and a Light Magic Gem. Then take the left path from the shrine
and defeat the lycanthrope. Cross the chasm in the northwestern corner using
the ledges on the rockface, then proceed to the next area, where a giant spider
awaits. Weaken and stun it so you can ride it, then approach the broken bridge
and press to replace it with a cob web.

Kill off the spider and cross the web. Inside the temple ahead, pull the statue
on the right with R2 and pick up the shadow medallion. Go back outside and fill
your shadow meter with R3 at the magic shrine on the right. Return inside and
activate shadow magic with L1. Examine the switch on the wall with R2 while
shadow magic is on to open the gate. Defeat the enemies in the area behind,
then climb up the wall and use the grip points to go up. When you get to the
very top of the area, press R2 to grab onto the (hard to see) final grip point
to complete this level.

II-V
Agharta

"The watchful ruins of Agharta lay before Gabriel

as he travelled across its desolate streets."

Head right at the beginning where the fallen bridge is and jump + R2 to grab
the grip point and swing across the chasm. Examine the fallen knight on the
other side to find a scroll, then defeat the goblins and head up left. There's
another knight with a scroll south of there. Then go north and drop down in the
area below. If you continue north (to the right) you'll find another fallen
knight behind the wall (left of the stairway) holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Now
return to the first fallen knight and proceed north from there. If you go
right, there's a grip point across the pit, so hook yourself to it to cross.

Examine the glowing bridge and a Warg will come out. Weaken it until you get to
mount it and jump over the chasm (double tap left stick to run towards the
bridge, then to jump). Defeat the goblins, then go left at the back of the
area and jump over the pits. Kill off the Warg to get off and jump over the
wall using the ledges. Ignore the troll in the next area for now, follow the
path to a corpse holding a scroll, then go up the stairs at the back to a
seemingly empty area. However, if you go left (north with the camera angle)
you'll find a knight holding a Life Gem and a health shrine in a recessed
area.

Now return to the troll and weaken it so you can ride it. Head left to drop
into some sort of arena and defeat the goblins. Then break through the metal
gate and follow the path up the stairs. Kill off the troll and climb up the
wall to a new area. Weaken the Warg here to ride it, then jump across the
chasm. Before jumping over the next gap at the end of the path, get off the
Warg and go north through the broken wall to find a knight holding a Shadow
Magic Gem. Now you'll need to get the Warg back, so return to the previous area
(a grip point will be on the left so you can go down, then swing across the
chasm using the grip point on the other side) and weaken another Warg to mount
it. Cross the chasm again, then proceed left all the way to a tall wall. Climb
it up with the Warg, then dismount it and descend into the pit using the ledge
and grip point on the right to follow the girl and end the level.

II-VI
Dark Dungeon

"Gabriel followed the mysterious girl

further into the depths of the City."

Start heading down into the dungeon using the ledges and grip points to make
your way across. At the bottom, haul yourself down, then press and the jump
button to land on the platform. Continue down until you find a corpse holding a
Light Magic Gem. Head into the cave at the very bottom and get the scroll from
the soldier on the left. Then ascend the stairs to find the girl. You will need
to find two keys so you can follow her. Take the path going left and kill off
the gremlins at the end. Examine the body to find the first missing Stone Rune.
Then jump into the small alcove in the back (on the right) to find a knight
holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Return to the bridge and place the first rune to
extend the bridge. Head onto it and go right into a small opening in the wall.
Check the door at the back and a spider will come out.

Weaken it to ride it, then use to break a part of the gate. Kill off the
spider and head through the hole. Examine the body to find the second Stone
Rune, then go back to the bridge place it into the other slot. You can now
cross the bridge so follow the trail deeper into the dungeon and climb up the
wall at the back. Hook to the grip point above, then shimmy along the ledge to
the left. When you get to the end, jump to the left and drop down to find a
fallen knight holding another Shadow Magic Gem. Then go back down and climb up
again, this time following the path up and refill your magic at the top.
Finally, cross using the grip point and kill off all the gremlins to end the
level.

II-VII
Sanctuary Entrance

"Gabriel explored the ruins of Agharta,

looking for power crystal nodes."
After the scene, go south past the glowing statue and head left into a
hard-to-see passageway up some stairs. Defeat the enemies, then go up to find a
knight holding a scroll and a ledge to climb. If you go left, the path will
collapse. Climb back up and jump over the chasm, then grab the grip point.
Defeat the enemies in the area here, then go south to find the first dark
crystal shard in the corner. Go north and right to a dead-end where you can use
the hook to grab the grip point above the ruins. Walk south to find a body with
a Light Magic Gem, then continue north and go right at the statue. You can walk
along the fallen pillar to find a knight holding a scroll at the bottom. Then
cross the beams and drop down in the area below to find the second dark crystal
shard. Defeat the enemies, then climb the ledges on the right. Climb up to the
very top of the wall to find a corpse holding a Shadow Magic Gem, then go back
down and jump to the right to cross the pit.

Defeat the enemies here too, then go south into the back of the area and climb
up the ledges on the wall. Use the grip point at the top, then press and jump
over to the opposite wall, grabbing the next grip point. Swing to the right to
grab the ledge shimmy along the wall to a platform on the side. Hurry across it
as it will collapse and jump over to another wall. Jump along the remaining
ledges to reach an area with three Lycanthropes. After disposing of them, climb
up the wall on the right until you reach the top wall and look south to find
the third crystal shard.

Follow the path north to a courtyard where the last crystal shard is. After
grabbing it, examine the statue on the left and a Troll will appear. Weaken it
to mount it, then destroy the statue blocking the way. Return to the entrance
area and place the full dark crystal into the glowing statue. After the gates
opens, pick up the crystal again from the statue. Enter the courtyard and place
the crystal into the other glowing stuae on the left. Rotate it so it faces the
statue on the opposite side. Go to that statue and rotate it until it faces the
other statue on the left (diagonally), then rotate that last statue towards the
gate to open it. Get the scroll from the soldier on the left side, then head on
through the gate to finish the level.

II-VIII
Sanctuary of Titans

"The massive Stone Idol Titan

stood menacingly before Gabriel."

To defeat this titan, don't get close, instead stand back as far as you can.
But before that, make sure to pick up the Shadow Light Gem from a fallen knight
on the far right side of the area. If standing far enough, the titan will first
crush the ground (jump before his leg hits the ground to avoid), then it will
throw a rock at you. When it gets close, press R2 to grab it and rotate the
left stick to throw it back. While it's stunned, run over to the titan and grab
his hand with the hook. Climb up to the top and crush the rune on its arm. Then
quickly drop down to the ledge below (on the right) to avoid its hand. If you
fall down, repeat the process and climb back up. After avoiding its fist, hook
yourself to it to move to its other arm. Climb up the and hit the rune at the
top. Then quickly climb up higher to avoid its hand again. Grab onto the moving
rock platform and wait for it to get close to the titan's head. Hook yourself
to it and climb up to destroy the final rune. It's not over yet though. Claudia
will throw the dark crystal at you; press the right button at the right time to
grab it and end the fight.

II-IX
The Black Knight

"Claiming vengeance for Claudia, his prot 횄짤 g 횄짤 e,

the Black Knight Golem ferociously attacked Gabriel."

This boss battle can be quite hard, but the game will save four times during
the fight, so make use of these checkpoints to start back at full health
everytime. Dodge and block a lot, roll around the Black Knight and attack him
when he turns his back to you. You can't win this fight by just attacking. Use
counterattacks and combos. When you take 1/4 of his health down, the Black
Knight will kneel over. Press R2 to seize him. After doing this twice, the
Black Knight will start will start sending black ooze after you; try to avoid
it as it will keep you in place and you will take all the hits. Just keep on
repeating the same process, but dodge the ooze and Black Knight at the same
time. After the third time, the boss will lose his armor so he will be more
vulnerable for the last round. Defeat him for good to receive the Dark Gauntlet
and start chapter 3. (*With the Dark Gauntlet, you can return to Agharta to
move the statue in the second area and get the dagger upgrade.)

CHAPTER 3

III-I
The Three Towers
"With the Dark Gauntlet on his hand, Gabriel
headed towards the Lycanthrope fortress."

You can punch the statue ahead by holding down L2+ with your new glove. This
will crack the wall so you can climb up the ledge on the right. If you need to
refill your magic, head down to the yard in the back and defeat the enemies,
then fill up the shadow magic. Return to the entrance by climbing up the ledges
on the left and punch the statue again while your shadow magic is on. You will
break through the door. Punch the statue again on the tip of the cliff. Now use
the hook on the statue to cross over. Head onwards and south after passing
through the large gate to find a shadow crystal shard. Now jump across the
cliff to the right until you reach a wall with some ledges. Do the usual thing
to get across to the next area, where a bunch of enemies will assault you. Get
rid of them all, then check the knight on the right to find a scroll. Proceed
forward to find another body holding a Shadow Magic Gem, then use the hook with
R2 on the piece of wall sticking out on the left and pull it apart.

Climb up, then cross using the grip point on the right to find another fallen
knight holding a Light Magic Gem. Go back to where you got the other gem and
enter the courtyard ahead. Rotate the mechanism in the middle to open the
gates. Inside, go all the way left and weaken the Warg to ride it. Go back
right all the way and climb up the roots using the Warg. Kill it off at the top
and go up the stairs on the right to find a corpse with another Shadow Magic
Gem. Then head into the following opening on the right and jump over the gap in
the bridge. Pull the lever to open the gate and go inside the tower. Now you
must light up the three symbols on the wall with your magic. The left one with
light magic, and the two others with shadow magic (press R2 while the magic is
on).

Then grab the grip point on the left and hook to the next grip point above
while you swing out. Climb to the top and collect the first Fairy. Go down,
refill your magic and get the scroll from the fallen knight, then haul yourself
down back into the tower. This time, grab the grip point to the right after
jumpig towards the giant statue. Hook yourself from grip point to grip point to
reach the tower on the other side. Go left and pick up the handle from the
ground. Place it into the mechanism on the right and spin the lever to open the
gate on the left (after getting rid of the lycanthrope). Before going left
through the gate, pick back up the handle and carry it to the right. There's
another door there.
Place the handle in the mechanism and spin it. Go through that door and climb
up to the top to find the second Fairy. Then head back down and left through
the previous gate. Hook yourself across the gap, then climb up the tower using
the grip point and ledges. Before going to the very top, go south to the edge
to find a fallen knight holding a Life Gem. Then climb up and collect the last
Fairy. Go down on the right and use the grip point to reach a ledge below.
Climb inside the tower to find a knight holding another Shadow Magic Gem. Now
head back down all the way to the courtyard. Try to spin the mechanism in the
middle to get attacked by lycanthropes. Defeat them, then pull the piece of
wall sticking out on the right to detach a part of the facade. Climb up into
the window above to get inside and examine the door to open it and complete the
level.

III-II
The Dark Lord of the Lycans

"A beam of magical light revealed the power

of the Dark Lord of the Lycanthropes."

Go down the stairway at the entrance and refill your health/magic, then advance
into the ring. The battle against the Dark Lord is fought similar to the one
against the Black Knight, except this boss is a lot quicker. The fight will be
in two parts; in the first one you will battle against his human form, and in
the second one against his werewolf form. During the first phase, dodge a lot
and block attacks, circling around the boss and attacking when you get a good
opening. His HP drains pretty quickly so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Try to keep from using magic so you can use it for the second phase instead. He
will then turn into a Lyncanthrope; same strategy, dodge, block, attack.

The boss uses the same patterns again so you know the drill. Use magic if you
need to heal, and keep on lowering his HP until a scene occurs. You will now
need to destroy all the pillars around the area, which is pretty easy, while
avoiding the Dark Lord's attacks. Then an another scene will take place, but
stay sharp as you must press the attack button with the right timing to give
the boss his final beating. Repeat the process until the scene ends and you
will receive the Cyclone Boots. Tap the left stick to run north and jump over
the pit, then climb up to leave this place. (*With the Cyclone Boots, you can
return to the Three Towers to get the fairy upgrade by sprinting and jumping to
a cliff near the beginning (hard to miss, you've probably seen it already while
going through the level).)

CHAPTER 4
IV-I
Mountain Fortress

"The walls of the mountain fortress rose up

on the horizon, waiting for the courageous hero."

Follow the trail up to the fortress entrance, grabbing the scroll from the
fallen knight on the way. Fill up your magic and approach the door. Activate
shadow magic and hold down L2, then ram through the door with the left stick.
Further ahead, go right to find a corpse holding a Life Gem, then left along
the broken wall ledges. After defeating some enemies, take a leap and use the
Cyclone Boots to jump over the gap in the bridge. On the other side, break
through the thin wall on the right using shadow magic as previously to find
another body holding a Shadow Magic Gem this time. Then go left and hang onto
the grip point. Instead of jumping left, climb up the rockface and shimmy right
once you grab the ledge. There's another grip point above; hook to it and climb
up to find a crystal shard and a knight holding a Light Magic Gem.

Go back down and left, then follow the trail and jump over the gap using the
Cyclone Boots. You'll get to a fallen knight with a scroll, and on the left a
climbable wall that leads to a higher ledge where enemies will attack you. An
ogre will also show up; stay on the right side as you defeat enemies,
eventually the left side will collapse. You will then be able to jump to the
right, and reach the ogre's hand. Attack it until its HP is depleated and
quickly cross the chasm to the right using the grip points. You will now need
to finish off the ogre. Simply attack its chest or arms when he tries to crush
you (use roll to dodge) until one of its fists start glowing. Grab it with R2
and press the attack button to rip one of its eyes off. Repeat the process a
second time when its HP bar reaches zero. Now the ogre will keep on attacking;
stay in the middle where you can see a sharp rock sticking out of the bridge.
Stay behind this rock until the ogre roars at you and its head should be
glowing. Grab it to pull the ogre's neck into the sharp rock.

You can get infinite magic on the left so this is an easy battle. Now that the
fight is over, proceed right into the fortress and drop down into the gap in
the path to find a knight with a scroll. Head back up and you should be
standing in front of a way going left and a statue blocking the way going
north. Activate shadow magic and punch the statue (hold down L2+ ) to clear the
path. Follow it to an outside area with a fallen knight holding a Light Magic
Gem. You can also get some fairies if you climb the stairs around use the
Cyclone Boots to jump. Then go back to the fork and head left all the way to a
dead-end. Climb up the wall, then use the grip point on the left to enter a
courtyard full of enemies. Examine the gate at the back and defeat enemies
until a troll appears.

Weaken it, ride it and destroy the gate. Climb up to the top of the stairway
ahead and a Chupacabra will steal your relic powers. You must get them back, so
head back down the stairway and go up the cliff on the side. Take a left and
climb up the scaffholdings to the reach the top where the Chupacabra is. Grab
it with R2 to get your powers back. Now jump back down and return to the
stairway. Go up to the door at the back and activate shadow magic. Hold L2 and
crush through it to complete the level.

IV-II
The Crow Witch

"Unexpectedly, a fire was burning

in the lowest floor of the tower."

Inside the tower, examine the fallen knight behind the fire to find a scroll,
then climb upstairs to find another body holding a Light Magic Gem. Then look
on the left for an open window where all the daylight is coming from. Exit
through here. Now you can either go down the cliff on the left to find a magic
shrine to refill your magic or simply climb up the tower to reach the witch. Go
down first as there is a fallen soldier holding a Shadow Magic Gem to find down
in the cave. Then crush through the door to be back in the tower and climb up
the outside wall on the right. When you get to the top, press and smash
through the glass window to get inside. Defeat the swordsmaster, then two more
will appear.

Once you have defeated them, the gate blocking the stairway will disappear.
Head upstairs and use the grip point to reach the next floor. Defeat the
swordsmasters here too, then grab the grip point to the left of the stairway to
climb up the wall. Head outside to find a magic shrine and a body next to it
holding a Life Gem. Then start climbing up the facade to reach the roof of the
tower, where the Crow Witch will finally show up. To defeat her, first get rid
of the crows attacking you, then she will throw eggs at you. Just like the
battle against the titan, grab an egg and throw it back at her. When she falls
down, get close and press R2 to grab her and ride her back. Press the button
shown on screen to make her crash and then attack her a couple of times while
she is collapsed. Repeat the process three times, then grab her again to end
the fight and complete the chapter.
CHAPTER 5

V-I
Veros Woods

"An inch of snow covered the

withered trees of Veros Woods."

You will come to a fork in the path after entering the woods; take a left for
some fairies, then ahead you should spot a breakable wall on the right. Break
through it with shadow magic to find a corpse behind which holds a Life Gem and
also a dark crystal shard. As you proceed forward, a Chupacabras will steal
your powers once again. Follow it through the right trail until you reach a pit
with a locked gate. Weaken the Warhog in this area to ride it, then ram through
the door. Kill off your mount and examine the body on the ground to get a
scroll. Then climb up the wooden beams on the wall behind to get on the cliff
above. The Chupacabras is standing inside the alcove on the left, but if you
jump to him, he will stun you. Select the fairies and press to send one to
distract him. Then jump over and grab it to regain your powers. Examine the
soldier in the cave behind to get a scroll and refill your magic.

Now get out of there and proceed forward to end back up near a breakable wall.
Before smashing through it, go back right to the goblin village from before and
take the right path. At the fork, go left and smash through the wall to find a
Life Gem on the fallen knight behind. Continue down the path and go right at
the next fork. Break through the wall to find a Shadow Magic Gem on the knight
behind. Now return to the goblin village and go left, smashing through the wall
blocking the path. Get the scroll from the fallen soldier near the gate, then
proceed to the next area.

V-II
Wygol Village

"As he walked through the empty streets of Wygol Village,

Gabriel could feel the fear that gripped the townsfolk."

Walk into the village to trigger a scene. You will then be locked into the
cemetary with Zobek. Ghouls will come out of three holes around the area; and
you must cover these holes with statues to stop the ghouls from spawning.
First, clear the area of all ghouls. Then, stand in front of the first hole and
press R2 to pull the statue. Press afterwards to call Zobek. Then press
repeatedly and again to block the hole. For the next one, defeat all ghouls
again, then stand behind the second statue and punch it towards the hole (L2+
). Punch it after charging to get it closer to the hole. Then stand in front of
the hole and pull the statue with R2. Do the same thing you just did to cover
this hole as well. Next, go up to the wall in the northwestern corner and smash
through it with shadow magic to reveal an alcove with a statue. Punch the
statue to the right, then defeat the ghouls, go stand in front of the third
hole and pull the statue again, repeating the same strategy. Now all holes are
covered. Smash through the cemetary gate with shadow magic, but before, get the
Shadow Magic Gem from the corpse on the right. Now enter the chapel in the
courtyard and get to the altar to obtain the Stake. Use it on the wheel on the
left to open the gate and head on through to exit the level. (*With this
upgrade, you can return to the Sanctuary Entrance to obtain a dark crystal
upgrade and Mountain Fortress.)

V-III
Abbey Catacombs

"Gabriel and Zobek travelled through the tunnels

that connected Wygol Village with its abbey."

As you enter the catacombs, vampires will come out to attack you. After
defeating a bunch, you will spot a handle. Go pick it up and carry it over to
the mechanism. Kill off all the vampires first, then spin the mechanism to open
the door. Call Zobek to hold the handle and run over to the door before it
closes. Now stand behind the statue in the middle of the next room and punch it
with shadow magic to break through the gate. Head back inside the previous room
to pick up the handle again and bring it into the new room. You'll need to open
both doors on each side and get across the rooms to obtain two keys needed to
open the gate in the center. I will start with the right one.

Place the handle and spin the mechanism. Go through the right door and cross
the hallway. The ceiling will fall down on you; while Zobek holds it, run over
ahead of him and press repeatedly to hold the ceiling, then press to call
Zobek as soon as the button is shown on screen. Keep on pressing until Zobek
prompts you to run and hold the next part. Keep on doing this process until you
reach the other side. Pick up the first abbey cloister key, then safely return
to the main room. Open the left door with the handle, then pick back up the
handle and carry it with you into the left room.

Place it into the mechanism and spin it to bring over a platform to you. Call
Zobek to hold the mechanism and get on the platform while he helps you cross to
the other side. Pick up the second abbey cloister key on the round pillar on
the left, then go south and up left at the back to find a fallen knight holding
a Life Gem. Now go back to the main room and place the keys into the slots to
open the door. The passage will lead you outside to a courtyard. If you go
north, you'll find a knight with a scroll, and another one inside the
courtyard. Now if you go south, you'll notice a light barrier. If you cross it,
it sends you back to the circle of light on the left.

To solve this puzzle, first go right and smash through the wall with shadow
magic. You'll find a handle behind. Carry it over to the lunar calendar in the
middle of the courtyard and enemies will start coming out. Defeat them all,
then spin the handle to move the light circle. Move it one spot north, then
call Zobek to hold it while you run over to the light barrier south of there.
You will be warped next to a fallen knight holding a Light Magic Gem. Get out
of there by climbing up the ledges on the right wall, then repeat the same
process. Defeat the enemies, then spin the handle and move the circle to the
south. Call Zobek, then run to the barrier to be warped behind it and thus
solve the puzzle. Run through the door behind you to leave the catacombs.

V-IV
Abbey Library

"Gabriel and Zobek entered the library,

following the trail of the abbot."

Follow the hallway to the very end to find a Light Magic Gem from the knight,
then go back to the door on the left and go inside. You'll get locked in.
Defeat the two Animated Armors while Zobek looks for the exit. To defeat them,
you will first need to remove the shield. Attack them until their shield starts
glowing, then press R2 to pull it off (or use shadow magic to break them). Then
you can normally defeat them. After Zobek has found an exit, you will find
yourself in the attic. Examine the corpse to find a scroll, then go behind the
glowing statue and hit it to push it towards the light (L2+ ). Then rotate it
to catch the light beam and turn it towards the door to open it. In the next
room, get the scroll from the body behind the books in the corner, then go
through the opening on the right to a small corridor with a top-down view.

On the left you'll find a fallen knight holding a Light Magic Gem, and on the
right a glowing statue. Push it forward with a punch, then return to the room
and push the other glowing statue into the light. Rotate it diagonally towards
the statue you just pushed previously and the light beam will hit the door,
opening it. Go upstairs to the final room, where Gremlins will attack you.
Defeat them, then go down the ramp to the left of the statue to find a (hard to
spot) knight holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Then push the statue to the right so
it catches on the light beam. Rotate it so it hits the statue to the left, then
go to that statue and push it right. Turn it so the light beam goes through a
hole in the opposite wall. Now cross to the other side of the room and go
inside the hallway. Destroy the weak wall on the left using shadow magic, then
defeat the animated armor. Push the statue down and rotate it south, then go
back to the hall and push the satue all the way down, then left, and turn it
towards the door to open it and complete the level.

V-V
Abbey Tower

"The last rays of sunlight illuminated the snow

covered grounds of the Abbey tower."

If you go left from the entrance and destroy the crates in the way, you'll find
a fallen knight with a scroll. Then go right and defeat the enemies attacking
you. Continue right to a covered hallway and go south to find a knight holding
a Life Gem in the corner. Proceed north to the next area where you'll find
another knight with a scroll, then defeat the gremlins and pull down the bridge
on the left. Cross, defeat the enemies on the other side, then rotate the wheel
to open the gate. Follow the path to the tower wall and start climbing up the
ledges to a rooftop. At the edge, take a leap with the clyclone boots and jump
towards the next wall. You can go left or right from here, shimmy to the left
first and drop down on the small platform on the side of the tower to find a
fallen knight holding another Life Gem. Now go back right and continue your
ascension to the top of the tower. When you get to the window at the top, break
through it to complete the level.

V-VI
Brauner

"A Vampire raiding party was already attacking

the small village of Wygol when Gabriel reached it."

When you arrive, the village is in flames. Refill your health and magic, then
use the grip point to get inside. An army of vampires will welcome you. Get rid
of them all and Lieutnant Brauner will show up. He's not that tough of a boss,
so this shouldn't take too long. You can attack him normally and dodge most of
his attacks, plus he will often throw his weapon, which you can catch with R2
to throw back at him. After a few shots, he will be stunned. Grab him and hit
him to rip his wings off, then continue the battle until he is stunned again
and finish him off for good.

V-VII
Castle Sewers

"A thankful villager led Gabriel to the secret entrance

of the sewage system beneath the Vampire Castle."

Enter the sewers and head down the stairs to the water pool below. Get the
scroll from the knight on the side, then step in the water and follow the trail
of drak green water to find another fallen knight holding a Shadow Magic Gem on
the other side. Then return to the entrance and pull down the lever on the
wall. The water coming from the statues will stop. Run very quickly to the
other side of the pathway before the second statue starts up again. You'll find
a wheel to spin here. However, skeletons will come out to attack you as you
start spinning it. These guys are pretty tough to defeat, but don't forget you
just got ahold of holy water, so use it! It's very effective against those
enemies. Also, once you defeat a skeleton, the bones will remain on the ground,
and it will come back to life unless you completely destroy them or use holy
water.

When you have gotten rid of them, spin the wheel to open the gate below, and
return to the pathway. Pull the lever on the wall to open the door under the
path and drop down, walking through it to a poison-filled room. Try to leap
over the water and quickly get back on safe ground. There's a scroll south of
there, then go inside the left hallway. Don't punch the button on the wall here
just yet; before that, cross the floor to the right (where spikes normally
appear after hitting the switch), then activate shadow magic on the other side
and throw an explosive dagger (you have to buy this in the menu) at the button
to open the gate. Leave and climb up the well.

CHAPTER 6

VI-I
Castle Courtyard

"The stones of the Vampire Castle were partially

concealed by a soft mantle of snow."
Climb up the well to get out, then head forward to the health shrine and climb
up the wall on the left to get inside the yard. Try spinning the wheel at the
back; two animated armors will appear. Defeat them, then spin the wheel and
quickly jump into the trap in the ground. Down there, get the the scroll from
the body at the back, then break through the wall on the left using shadow
magic to find a knight holding a Life Gem. Don't defeat the skeletons yet, wait
for a warg to come out of one of the doors and ride it. Kill off the skeletons
with it, then climb up the glowing pillar on the right to reach the higher
level. Dispose of your mount, then jmp down into the hole at the back and
follow the path to a corridor with skeletons. Defeat them, then turn the wheel
to open the door. Climb up the stairs to the top to finish the level.

VI-II
Maze Gardens

"The presence of the Dark Lord had turned the once-verdant

gardens of the mountain castle into a mockery of life."

This place is filled with Mandragoras who will sap your health, so don't lose
too much time defeating them as they are everywhere. When you enter the garden,
first go left and pull the statue to reveal a fallen knight holding a Life Gem.
If you follow the paths to the far-left side of the maze, you'll find a
breakable wall (use shadow magic) with another knight behind holding a Light
Magic Gem. Now if you head to the northeast corner of the garden you'll find a
tall statue which you can punch to push. Then you can climb it up to reach
another section of the maze. Head right to find a large spider in the northern
corner. Mount it, then go back left and use a web to cover up the chasm. Also
look around to find two gates which you can open up using the web. Go through
the only gate you can pass through with the spider to return to the entrance
and go to the southeast corner to find another chasm. Cover it up with a web,
then kill off the spider. Cross the web to find a body with a Shadow Magic Gem
on the other side.

Now return to the other part of the garden to where you fought the giant spider
and set the first web on the left. Cross that one and get the scroll from the
body. Ahead is a puzzle where you must turn the statues around until they are
all facing the center. The easiest way to do this is to simply turn the middle
statue counter-clockwise twice. Solving the puzzle will get you the Vampire
Key. With that in hands, go to the second gate you destroyed with the spider,
the one only you can pass through. Upstairs, place the key in the slot to open
the door. You will be back in familiar grounds. Cross the pit to the left using
the cyclone boots to jump, then head back to the castle entrance and use the
key to unlock the giant gate leading in.

VI-III
Castle Hall

"The scared Vampires saw the rays of sunlight,

streaming through the open windows."

In the entrance hall, vampires will keep on coming at you, so before attempting
to defeat them, first check the left side of the hall to see curtains that you
can pull off the windows. Pull all you can with R2, then there will remain one
window which is obstructed with wooden planks. Kill off the vampires, then
quickly pull out all three planks before the vampires respawn. Take off the
curtain to finish the job. The vampires will now stop coming, so you can spin
the wheel to open the door. But before that, go to the back of the room (close
to the entrance gate) to find a statue. Punch it left, then spin it towards the
door you just opened with the wheel so the light goes into the next room. Head
into that room and do the exact same thing with the curtains to kill off the
vampires. Then spin the wheel to open the door to the right and go inside the
room.

Push the statue to the right all the way down into the previous room and spin
it so the light beam hits the door open. There's a fallen knight also in that
room, that you might spot on a ledge up on the left wall. To reach it, just
destroy the furniture on the side, then climb up to claim your Life Gem. Now to
solve the rune puzzle ahead, first fill your magic, then light up the two runes
on each side of the door with shadow magic. At the back, light the left one
with shadow magic, and the two others with light magic. This will open the gate
back in the previous room. Daytime incidentally comes to an end, so the
vampires will come out again. Defeat as many as you can while the gate opens,
then go through once it is open. You will then face with a vampire girl to play
a chess game, which can be skipped. After that, examine the body in the
top-right corner of the room to get a Light Magic Gem, then leave through the
top-left.

VI-IV
Refectory

"Inside the refectory, the foul stench of rotting

meat assailed the nostrils of our hero."

Follow the hallway to see a scene with the Evil Butcher. Go downstairs and get
rid of the ghouls. Then go into the left room and pick up a limb from the pot.
Bring it into the main room and put it down onto the plate. Then ring the bell
on the right to call the monsters. While they are busy eating, grab the grip
point inside the alcove on the right to get inside. Follow the tunnel to a fork
and go south to find a fallen knight holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Then go north
to face the Evil Butcher. He's a tough opponent, but only because it takes a
while to get his HP down. His attacks don't do that much damage, and are easy
to avoid. Just keep on dodging and attacking; eventually he will go in the
corner and breath fire at you, releasing magic orbs. Absorb them to refill your
health or use shadow magic against him. When you get him close to dying, a
purple aura will surround him. Hit the cauldron on his head, then grab his
sword with R2 to finish him off. Just like that. He will drop a key; pick it
up, then leave the kitchen.

Return to the small room on the left where you got the limb and open the door
here with the key. In the wine cave behind is a fallen knight on the left
holding a Life Gem. Now go back to the entrance of the level and head left into
the hallway leading to a closed gate. Open it up with the key, then prepare to
face a bunch of enemies. First defeat the animated armor, then the skeletons
with the help of holy water flasks to speed things up. After the massacre, go
back inside to refill your magic at the shrine near the entrance, then back on
the balcony, you will need to light up the runes around the gate with magic to
open it. From left to right; blue, blue, red, red, blue, red. Before exiting
the level though, there is still one gem to collect. On the right of the
puzzle, jump towards the fallen pillar on the side to spot a grip point above.
Hook to it and climb up around the balcony to get atop. Pick up the scroll from
the statue, then cross the beams to reach the other side. Go down to find a
corpse holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Then go back down and through the gate to
start a new chapter.

CHAPTER 7

VII-I
Balcony

"As soon as he was outside,

more Vampires rushed Gabriel."

Head onwards and drop off the balcony on the left, then crossing the beams to
the other side. On your way, you should spot a fallen knight on the side. To
reach it, go right when you get to the roof and drop off the edge next to the
fence. Then shimmy along the ledge to the left to reach the body which holds a
Shadow Magic Gem. Then return to the roof and defeat the swordsmasters at the
back. Climb up the wall to reach a higher rooftop and drop off the edge on the
left to find an open window below. There's a body with a scroll inside, then go
back up and use the hook and grip point to jump to the left wall. You can reach
the other window on the left, where you'll find another body with a Light Magic
Gem. More importantly, defeat the two skeletons, which will drop the Balcony
Key. Pick it up with R2, then go back up to the rooftop and open the gate at
the back with the key. Also get the scroll on the right. Climb up the wall
behind to a strange room. There are two fallen knights around this room, one
with a scroll and one with another Shadow Magic Gem on the right. Then examine
the puzzle game next to the door. You must drop the balls and hit the sticks
until they are all green (1: left ball, 2: middle ball 5 times, 3: right ball).
Solving the puzzle will unlock the door, so go through once you are done.

VII-II
Electric Laboratory

"Only the buzzing sounds of the strange machinery

could be heard inside the laboratory."

Step inside the first room and get the scroll from the soldier on the right.
Then punch the switch on the floor on the left (L2+ ) to change the direction
of the electric barriers. You can now reach the switch on the right, so punch
that one, then punch the last one in the top-left corner and exit the room. The
next room has a more complicated puzzle. Start by punching the switch in front
of you, then go left and collect the Light Magic Gem in the corner. Then punch
the battery on the left until it's blocked by the electric barrier.

Punch the first switch again, then continue to punch the battery into the slot.
Move up and punch the switch on the wall, then go around, punching the first
switch again so you can move to the northwest corner of the room. However, it's
still blocked by some electric barriers. Stand in front of them, towards the
switch on the wall on the other side, and throw a dagger with shadow magic
activated to hit the switch and move the barriers. Go in and throw a second
explosive dagger to move back the barrier so you can proceed to the next room,
which has an even bigger puzzle.

Go left first and break through the thin wall using shadow magic. Behind you
will find a switch, so punch it to clear a path north. Go there and hit the
switch on the ground so you can pick up the red lens between the barriers. You
will then get attacked by the Mechanical Monstrosity. Basically, just hit it
until it goes in the middle to recharge, at which point you should hit the
switch shown in the cutscene to stop it from recharging, and hurt it even more.
Its HP drops pretty quickly, so if you hit the switch everytime, it will go
down quickly.

After that, go to the center and move the lever counter-clockwise twice,
then hit the switch to the south. Now move the center lever three times again,
then go directly left to hit the switch in the alcove. Now go back right and hit
the next switch, close to where you fought the Mechanical Monstrosity. Return to
the center and move the lever once counter-clockwise. Go north and wait for a
platform to move on the right. Jump on it to get to the knight in the corner,
which holds a Life Gem. Then ride the platform south and jump over to the
southeast corner. Hit the switch here to solve the puzzle, then leave the
room.

VII-III
Chromatic Observatory

"The mirrors inside the device channeled the moonlight towards

the colored prisms at its base, bathing the room in an eerie light."

This level is one large room with several small rooms around, which you will
need to go through in order to retrieve lens. Right now we have the red lens
from the previous level, so pull the lever in the center and select the red
lens to open the red door. In this room, defeat the Vampires first, then
starting from the bottom-right corner of the tiled floor in the middle, dash
(shadow magic + left stick) from one corner to the other (to the left) until
you have dashed around the whole square. This will open the door in the back,
so go in there and examine the knight to find the green lens. Kill the
swordsmater to leave and return to the main room. Put in the green lens added
with the red lens to obtain yellow and open the yellow door.

This room has the same kind of puzzle. Defeat the vampires, then starting from
the bottom corner, dash to the left all around the losange to open the gate.
Examine the knight to obtain the blue lens, then defeat the two swordsmasters
and go back to the main room. This time, remove the red lens and only keep the
green lens to open the green door. Inside, defeat the swordsmasters, then cross
the chasm ahead with the grip point. On the right you will spot a fallen
knight. You can't reach it, but once on the other side, stand next to where it
should be (although you don't see it) and press R2 to grab the Life Gem from
it. Then go to the back of the room and starting from the tip, dash all the way
to the other extremity. Pick up the white key, then return to the central
room.
Line up the green and blue lens to awaken an animated armor. Defeat it, then
collect the Light Magic Gem from the dead knight that was behind it. Now line
up all three lens colors to open the white door. Go inside and go right to
collect a scroll. Then go left and up using the hook. Follow the path up across
the wooden beams all the way to the other side and go down. Place the white key
in the slot and examine the knight in the middle to obtain a Shadow Magic Gem.
Return to the central room again and remove the green lens so only blue and red
remain, opening the purple door. Behind this door you will fight against
Laura's toys. They are quite easy to defeat, just use shadow magic, then grab
them and press the right buttons to finish them off and complete the
chapter.

CHAPTER 8

VIII-I
Outer Wall

"Deadly icicles hung like crystal spears

above Gabriel's head."

Right when you start, press R2 to get a scroll from a fallen knight on the
left. Then drop off the balcony and shimmy right to grab the ledge on the wall.
Climb up to the top, then go left behind the big ice wall to find a knight
holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Now walk to the back of the area to pick up the
scroll from the knight there. Enemies will attack you; dispatch them, then turn
towards the locked gate. You will need to light up the runes with magic, as
usual. On the left side, the runes need to be blue, blue, and red (from bottom
to top). On the right, they need to be blue, red, and red. Once the gate is
open, go through and walk across the chain to reach a tower in the middle.

Defeat the gremlins, then turn the mechanism in the center to rotate the fence
around the tower. When you let go of the lever, the fence will return to its
original emplacement, so you need to quickly run south to pass through the
opening in the fence before it completely rotates. You'll fall down in some
stairs below. Go down to the room inside the tower and pick up the Tower Key
from the soldier. Then defeat the swordsmaster and spin the mechanism to leave
the room. Back on the tower, cross the second chain to reach the other side.
Inside this place, first look on the left to find a fallen knight holding a
Light Magic Gem. Then use the key in the slot and head on through the door.
VIII-II
The Clockwork Tower

"Moving gears of various sizes and shapes

filled the interior of the Clockwork Tower."

Start by crossing the beam in front of you to reach a little balcony on the
other side. You can't really see it from here, but there's another balcony like
this one on the left, across the gap. Make a blind jump to the left to reach it
and get the Light Magic Gem from the body there. Jump back right, then leap
from one moving platform to the other until you reach that spinning gear in the
middle. Ignore it; jump on the lege on the wall to the left. When the gear
stops, shimmy to the right and drop down on the other side. Take the moving
platform up to reach a lever. Spin it all the way so that thing in the middle
goes up to the same level. Cross the beams to reach the other side. On the wall
here you'll find two electric barriers and a grip point above. Hook yourself to
it, then jump twice in a row (with ) to get a good leap, and push upwards to
get past the first barrier. Then climb up and go right.

Drop down on the moving platforms, then continue right and jump across the
obstacles and ledges until you reach a magic shrine. To climb up the wall
ahead, just wait for the electric fields to go off, then quickly climb up,
wait, and climb up again. Just take a look at the pattern and climb at the
right time. At the top, jump to the balcony on the right to reach a knight with
a Life Gem. Then grab the grip point on the left to reach a bigger balcony.
Spin the lever, and the Mechanical Monstrosity will make a comeback. He's
easier to defeat this time; just use shadow magic, roll around him and hit him
from the back until he starts glowing, then grab him and hit him until he's no
more. Now finish rotating the lever to bring the central platform up and cross
to the center to end the level.

VIII-III
Olrox

"Olrox roared ferociously for the death of his

twin brother, and charged Gariel."

It was about time for a real boss battle. Commander Olrox uses similar attack
pattern as his brother Brauner, and he will also throw his weapon, except you
can't catch it this time. Simply dodge the attacks and hit him everytime you
get the chance, pulling off combos with shadow magic and refilling your health
with light magic, which you can replenish pretty often as Olrox will drop
several magic orbs during the fight. When you finally get his health down,
Olrox will open one of the coffins around the room and feed on the werewolf
inside, regaining some HP. Attack him to make him stop, then destroy the
werewolf inside. This is very important, as if you don't dispose of the
werewolves, the fight will just never end.

Keep on attacking him to lower his HP again, then he will open the next coffin
(out of 4) and absorb more health. Attack him, get rid of the werewolf inside,
and repeat the process until there are no more coffins and he's done for. After
the battle, examine the last coffin to find a corpse inside holding a Shadow
Magic Gem. Then check the puzzle in the middle of the room. You have to lead
the ball of blood through the maze to reach the closest circle, before times
runs out. Do one circle at a time, always choosing the path that looks the
shortest. The third one is very tricky; there's no trick, you just have to be
really quick and turn the corners before the ball reaches them to save a few
seconds. Then go to the circle on the right, and then top one. This will open
the gate so you can leave this room.

VIII-IV
The Throne Room

"The snowstorm blasting the tower was getting stronger

as Gabriel got closer to the Dark Lord."

Head up the stairway at the beginning and grab the Light Magic Gem from the
fallen knight on the right as you proceed up. Inside you will confront Carmilla
for yet another boss battle, but first she will send out some vampires at you.
You cannot attack her yet, so for now, just deal with the vampires and dispose
of them all. She will then come down one on one, after transforming. Ignore the
vampires this time and just concentrate on attacking her. Half-way through the
fight, you will be able to grab her, so do so. In the second part of the fight,
she will fly up and come down, creating a wave which can be avoided by jumping
before she reaches the ground. Keep on attacking her until she is close to
dying, and she will collapse on the ground. Approach her and punch her (L2+ )
to trigger a scene. However, don't put the controller down just yet; you still
have some buttons to press. You will then acquire the Seraph Shoulders, which
allows you to double jump.

CHAPTER 9
IX-I
Bones Forest

"The Seraph Shoulders helped Gabriel to overcome

the obstacles laid out in the desolate Bones Forest."

After coming out of the doorway, look on the left to find a fallen knight
holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Then check behind the doorway to find another one
holding a Light Magic Gem. At the back of this area, grab the ledge on the wall
using the double jump, then use the cyclone boots to run and double jump across
the pit. You will then come to a fork where headless burrowers will assault
you. To defeat these weak enemies, first destroy the heads they send flying
around, then they will come out of the ground, so attack them or grab them. It
takes a while, but once they are defeated, the two paths will open. Go with the
right path for a scroll, then take the left path.

Using the cyclone boots to sprint, double jump over to the other side of the
pit (the upper area). Get the Shadow Magic Gem from the knight at the back,
then defeat those annoying zombies to re-open the path and cross to the other
side again. This time, just double jump across the pit to reach the tunnel
under the path you were just on. A short scene will give you a view of the
chasm ahead. Use the double jump and the grip points to cross, then that damned
chupacabras will show up again and steal your stuff. Climb up the ledge on the
right and get the Life Gem from the knight on the platform.

Then climb up into the tunnel, following the chupacabras. Weaken the Troll
inside and ride it. Destroy the boulders ahead, then kill off the small trolls
and smash the smaller boulder on the right to reveal the litle bandit. Get off
your troll and grab the thief to reclaim your powers. Now return to where the
chupacabras caught you and head forward, double jumping over the pits. You'll
fall down below; just continue ahead past the obstacles and ledges to reach a
scroll and the end of the level.

IX-II
Woes Moor

"Up to that moment, Gabriel had found no trace of the

three scarecrows inside the abandoned town."

After the cutscene, go south from where you start to find a fallen knight
holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Then proceed north into the village, getting the
scroll on the way. You'll be shown a bunch of crows on a perch. Shake the wheel
underneath to make them fly away. Now you can go north from there, or right.
Going north leads you to a wall you can take down, up to a knight holding a
Light Magic Gem. Right leads to a larger area with a knight holding a Life Gem
in the barn ahead, some scrolls, and if you go south at the split, another wall
to take down with a knight holding a Light Magic Gem behind. Just check all the
paths to collect all the stuff.

Then return to the fork and shake the wheel where the crows are to make a
scarecrow appear. Defeat him (he's really easy) and he will drop the first key.
Pick it up, then shake the wheel nearby to make a new flock of crows show up.
They are located up the north path where you got the first light magic gem.
Move the first flock back to their original perch, then go up to the newly
arrived flock and move them down. Follow them and move them from perch to
perch
until they try to get on the already occupied perch. They will land somewhere
else instead. Shake them off a last time to make another scarecrow appear.
Defeat him to obtain the second key.

Go back south and follow the crows to the right. Ignore the crows already on
the perch here, instead go behind the barn and shake the crows there. Follow
them again and shake them from all perchs until they go left near the barn
where you picked up the second light magic gem. Shake them off, then go inside
the barn where you got the gem and a new flock will arrive. Move them over as
well to awaken the last scarecrow. Defeat him to earn the last key and return
to Baba with all three keys. Get inside the navel to end the level. Baba will
make Gabriel smaller so you can enter the music box.

IX-III
The Music Box

"The treacherous golden corridors of the music box

were filled with traps no bigger than a thimble, but still deadly."

This is another puzzle-based level. First, pick up the green cylinder in the
middle and place it into the device on the right. Select it, then press the
rightmost button. Now hurry into the passageway on the left and pick up the
Light Magic Gem from the knight. It doesn't matter if you die, next time just
run all across to the other side (use the cyclone boots to sprint) and pick up
the red cylinder. Then go in the warp to return to the main room. Place the red
cylinder on the left, and the green cylinder on the right, then press the
button and move into the right passageway. Jump from platform to platform when
they appear, then go into the left passage and sprint across to grab the
magenta cylinder. Back in the main room, place the cylinders in this order:
red, magenta, and green.

Now head into the same passage you just went through, but this time go right
when you reach the other side. Roll under the gears to get past and collect the
yellow cylinder. Back in the main room, place the cylinders as follow: red,
yellow, green, magenta. Then go into the north path across the pit and go left.
Make sure your shadow magic is full. To get past the fire, charge shadow magic
with L2, then as soon as the flames disappear, push the left stick to dash
across. Push a second time right after to get past the second section before
the flames appear (you could do it in two shots, but it's easier to just dash
twice in a row). Pick up the blue cylinder, then return to the room and place
them in this order: red, blue, magenta, yellow and green.

Now head back into the north path, and keep going north through the electric
fields. Just wait for them to disappear and move right step by step, following
the electric fields as they disappear. Then roll under the spinning gears and
you'll get the choice of going left or right. If you want the gem, go left.
This is the same fire trap as previously, so do the same thing with the dash
and grab the Life Gem from the knight on the other side. Go back to the room
and switch the yellow cylinder for the green one. Then go through the same path
exactly, but this time go right at the end. Wait for the spikes to retract (if
you're ahead of the music), then dash forward and pick up the blue rose at the
extremity to finish the level.

CHAPTER 10

X-I
Titan Graveyard

"A deadly mist lay like a mantle over the cemetery

of Titans, leaving only a few small areas untouched."

Go forward and double jump to the ledge on the left, then climbing up to the
top and making your way across the gaps. Keep on climbing until you get out of
this strange place. Outside, drop off the cliff and start going down. Use the
grip point to lower yourself and reach the ground. On the right is a knight
holding a scroll. Ahead, double jump across the poisonous waters to reach the
area on the other side. Go northwest to find a scroll on the knight, then
continue left up the titan remains and drop down at the end to find another
knight below holding a Light Magic Gem. Now return to the small island in the
poisonous water and jump over to the titan's arm on the right (hard to figure
out you can jump on it unless you know about it). Now sprint using the cyclone
boots up the arm and double jump at the tip of the fingers to reach the cliff.
Defeat the monsters here (including the coffin one) to obtain a titan rune.

Pick it up, then go left all the way to the end of the titan's arm to find a
fallen knight with a Life Gem. Now go back right where you fought the creeping
coffin and place the rune into the circular slot in the top-left corner to move
the titan's arm. Head north along it and double jump over to a small island in
the water. Jump to the next one, then jump over to the shore on the right
(again, hard to know you can jump there, tsk.) If you jump right, you'll find a
scroll. Otherwise, follow the trail north, then go right when it looks like the
path ends. You'll find a cave with some creeping corpses and coffins. Defeat
them to obtain the second rune.

After picking it up, return to that island in the water and jump on the titan's
hand on the left. Leap over to the next area and go right to find a fallen
knight holding a Shadow Magic Gem behind the titan. Then go around left this
time and place your rune into the round slot to move the titan's arm. Go back
to where you just got the gem and climb up on the arm with a double jump. Run
to the extremity and jump over to the next area. Defeat the three creeping
coffins one by one to obtain the last rune.

Now I'm not too sure how you're supposed to see that one, I got it almost by
accident, but there is a hard-to-see fallen knight over on the right tip of the
area who holds a Light Magic Gem. Then double jump up the cliff at the back and
go right to get on another arm. Run along it and jump back on the previous
titan arm. Go back left and place the final rune into the other slot to move
the other arm. Go back to the front and climb up the right side to get on that
arm, then jump at the end to clear the level.

X-II
Fire Pinnacle

"As soon as the fight started, Pan drained

all of Gabriel's magic energy."

You will now be in a tough fight against the Silver Warrior, where you'll start
without any magic. The same strategy applis as for most bosses; dodge, attack,
dodge, attack, etc. You can also block and counter-attack if you're good at it.
After a while, you will be able to grab him, after which he will hand back over
your light magic. Keep the fight going until you get the oppurtunity to grab
him again and reclaim your shadow magic after that. Now that you have both
magic back, he will start attacking with magic as well. To defeat him quickly,
use shadow magic when he is using light magic, and use light magic when he is
using shadow magic. Defeat him to move on to the next area.

X-III
Fire Cemetery

"Using his acrobatic skills, Gabriel crossed

the chasms inside the cemetery canyon."

Double jump across the first chasm at the beginning, then quickly shimmy left
before the ledge falls off and jump back on the opposite cliff. Continue to the
right to cross path with two zombies. Defeat them, then proceed forward and
drop down into the pit. After killing off the zombies down here, climb back up
on the left side to reach a cliff above with a Light Magic Gem on the fallen
knight. Then jump back down and climb on the right to get back where you were.
At the start of the trail, drop off the left edge and quickly shimmy along the
ledges before they fall off. Use the grip point at the end to go down and
proceed forward to get a view of the area ahead.

Now run up the edge using the cyclone boots, take a leap and jump forward
across the chasm. When you start falling, use the double jump to reach the
other side, where you will fall face to face with the chupacabras... again.
Before reclaiming your magic, go left and down to find a fallen knight with a
Life Gem. Then go right to find a knight with a scroll north of where you
start, and another one more on the right. Fill up your dark crystal if it's not
already, then put it inside the glowing figure on the wall on the right. This
will power up crystal energy to the purple pillar south of there.

Spin it towards the other pillar on the left to spread the light beam, then
attack the left pillar to move it to the right and then rotate it towards
chupacabra's cage by sending the light beam in the hole between the rocks. One
statue will be destroyed. Now go back right and hit the right pillar all the way
up north. Get the Life Gem from the knight on the left also. Rotate the pillar
once it's at the extremity to turn the light beam towards the cage and destroy
another statue head. Now go get your crystal back and hit the left crystal all
the way to the left extremity. Then go north from there to find another glowing
figure.

Place the crystal there, then hit the nearby pillar down. Rotate it so the
light beam goes between the rocks and hit the other pillar you just moved
before. Then go spin that pillar to turn the light beam towards the remaining
statue head. Now you can go grab the chupacabras to get your powers back and
also don't forget to get your crystal back too. Then move on ahead and dispose
of the zombies (holy water works well here). Fill up your magic, then activate
shadow magic and punch (L2+ ) the gongs, one after the other, and back and
forth, a few times until the gate finally opens. Go through to complete this
part.

X-IV
Crematory Oven

"The gravedigger summoned a number of creeping

corpses, which proceeded to attack Gabriel."

Start this level by defeating the creeping coffins, one by one, then the
creeping corpses. The gates will then open, so you may go through to face the
gravedigger. He is a slow boss, but his weapon is pretty big, making it hard to
dodge some of his attacks. When you get his health down, he will kneel over and
start glowing, but don't grab him just yet. First, go spin the wheel on the
right to open the furnace. Then grab the boss and he will throw you back. Mash
the right buttons shown on screen to push him into the oven and end the fight.
However, he will grab you into the oven with him. Start climbing back up,
making it as fast as possible as the lava level raises. After using one of the
grip points, you will be left hanging on a ledge around the exterior wall. You
can shimmy left or right, but go right first as there is a fallen knight
holding a Shadow Magic Gem to be found at the extremity. Then go back left and
make it out of there.

CHAPTER 11

XI-I
Necromancer's Abyss

"Gabriel approached the mysterious device

at the entrance to the Necromancer Abyss."

Head onwards and go left, dropping down the cliff to a lower ledge with a
fallen knight holding a Shadow Magic Gem. Then go back up and examine the large
structure to solve a puzzle. You need to align three symbols as follow: (use
the left stick to scroll through them, then press )

Then cross the pathway to the right to reach another puzzle. Take a look at the
wall in the back to see where the blue line goes. Now take a look at the tiles
on the floor. There are four lines of tiles, of different colors. If you punch
them (L2+ ), they will indicate a different direction on the left side of the
screen. The inner, yellow line is down, the next green one is right, the orange
one is left, and the outer brown one is up. You'll need to hit any tile of a
line of directions so it matches the drawing on the wall (starting from bottom
to top). Just make it go like this:
Up, Right, Up, Up, Left, Down, Left, Up, Up, Right, Up.
(or)
brown, orange, brown, brown, green, yellow, green, brown, brown, orange,
brown.
Then punch the glowing blue tile in the center to complete the puzzle. Double
jump to the area behind and go left through a red warp. Defeat the reapers on
the other side, then go down and drop off the cliff south of there to find a
fallen knight with the final Life Gem. Head back up and through the red warp to
re-appear in the air. Double jump to the left from here to reach the platform,
then jump to the other platform on the right and examine the mirror to go
through. You will now need to jump on a series of moving platforms until you
reach the top, then sprint and double jump to the other side. Ahead you will
confront the Necromancer, a rather easy boss. Just defeat him like a regular
reaper, then two mirrors will appear. Let's start with the right one for
now.

You will be teleported to another area. Go left first and double jump across
the gap. Go up and through the warp above, then grab the grip point on the wall
to the right and jump back on the platform behind you to find a fallen knight
holding the final Light Magic Gem. Head back down and go right this time,
through the other warp. Pass through the mirror above to reach yet another
area. Going into the warp here takes you above a moving platform; try to land
on it, otherwise start over until you do, then jump to the cliff on the left
and climb up the ledges. Defeat the reapers at the top, then go right and
through the mirror. In the next area, dispatch the reapers first, then punch
the button in front of the mirror to activate another mirror. Then use the
mirror to be back in the area with the two mirrors.

Now go through the left mirror. Double jump to the ledge on the left and shimmy
left. Drop down into the warp below to re-appear in the air, and quickly grab
the grip point on the left. Double jump to the next area after that and defeat
the reapers. Go down on the right and drop off the edge of the cliff to get to
some ledges. Follow them to the left to reach a stairway with a health shrine.
Go up and punch the switch on the ground to partially open the gate back in the
previous area. Then go through the mirror to return there. Go back into the
left mirror again, but this time jump into the warp to the right. Double jump
to reach the grip point above, then go right through the mirror and punch the
switch in the next area to completely open the gate. Then go through to be back
there. Head through the new mirror in the back.

You will face the Necromancer again, but this time he is a little stronger, as
he will send out Reapers at you, which deal lots of damage if you let them
touch you. Use light magic to refill your health if needed. He is still easy to
defeat however, and another mirror will appear after the battle. It will take
you to a high cliff which you must climb around all the way to the top. Use all
the ledges and grip points at your disposition, then jump over to the mirror on
the summit, which will take you to the last area. Go left first and go down the
broken stairway to find a fallen knight holding the final Shadow Magic Gem at
the bottom. Then head back right and climb up to the top of the cliff to finish
this level.

XI-II
The Dracolich

"The Dracolich flew above the platform, launching fiery

attacks with its breath every time that it swept over."
The Dracolich is similar to the Titans, and probably the most tedious boss
battle in the game. You will start on a platform with the Dracolich flying
around. Wait for it to fly over you and jump over the green stuff he breathes.
After he has passed over, press R2 to hook yourself to its underbelly. Climb
around the ledge and then upwards to wind up on its back side. Jump from bone
to bone over to the right, then drop down on the ribcage that is whiter than
the rest. Go to the tip to hang from it and jump over to the left when the
other ribcages are close enough. Climb down to its belly again from the last
one, then climb back up on the other side and keep going until you are on its
spine. Follow the way from there to find the first green rune. Attack it until
it breaks, then go to the other side of its back and break the second rune.

The Dracolich will start to fly upwards, so climb up the bones until you get to
the third rune and hit it. After you are sent flying down, press the button at
the right time to catch back up and work your way to the next rune. After
destroying it, you will be back on the platform from the beginning, with the
Dracolich breathing more green stuff at you. When you see his jaw glowing, hook
to it to get inside its mouth and quickly hit the rune at the back to stop it
from spitting. Then hit it a couple more times and he will spit you out. Repeat
the process a few more times to defeat it.

CHAPTER 12

XII-I
Final Fight

"Gabriel and Satan struggled ferociously, their weapons clashing

with blasts of Light and Shadow energy."

After the cutscene, you will face Satan in a fight similar to the one against
the Silver Warrior. You have unlimited magic, so make use of it. If you want to
do any damage at all, switch between both magic to attack Satan. When he is
using light magic, use shadow magic, and vice versa. He will also summon
reapers to his side, so be careful. You must use the opposite magic to defeat
them. Because light magic was infinite, my HP never really seemed to ever go
down, making the fight rather easy. Once you have lowered his health to about
half, Satan will kneel over and circles will appear around him. You must use
the same color of magic as the color to go through, then stop, change to the
other magic, go through, etc. Don't go too fast here or it won't work. Just
switch magic as soon as you get past the barrier and repeat the process until
you reach Satan. Grab him with R2, then continue the fight until his HP is
almost down to none. He will use a few new moves, but the fight is basically
the same. At this point, he will start glowing again and more circles will
appear, but this time they are moving. This part is rather tricky, but it's the
same thing as before, you just need to be more careful. Grab him again when you
get to him to end the battle. Watch the ending til after the credits (you can
scroll them faster with Down on the pad) to view an extra cutscene. Enjoy.
