Ordering example: Threaded transmitter R ½" external with pressure range 0–65 kPa for atmospheric pressure will have
order code: ETP08-4130 with calibrated measuring range 0–65 kPa.
Note 1: The desired type of flange must be stated when ordering ETP08-44X0 and -45X0.
Note 2: Verify pressure range for actual type as in table on previous page, when defining pressure range 1–8.

Function Connection
ETP08 uses a piezo-resistive pressure
sensor which is connected to the
pressure of the medium via a capillary
–
tube and a diaphragm. Media pressure
applied to the diaphragm is transferred
via silicon oil to the pressure sensor. RY
The oil completely fills the cavity in the
sensor, the capillary tube and the cavity +
above the diaphragm, whichs means Test terminal 4–20 mA
that the diaphragm movement is very
small with pressure changes. The
capillary tube protects the pressure
sensor from transient pressure shocks.
To esure that the sensor has the
correct reference pressure, the rear side

is connected to ambient atmospheric
pressure, via a tube, designed in order
that air passes “cold surfaces” closest to Measuring 10F

condense on these surfaces, the

condensate runs out and the air
remaining in the tube remains dry. Switch
Additionally, the reference pressure
connection is designed to prevent Zero
flushing water from entering.
An electronic circuit converts the
sensor bridge circuit resistance change
to a 4–20 mA current signal. A test Cable connection and adjustment
terminal allows monitoring of the
output signal during operation without

The tolerance is valid for up to 30 V supply voltage. To be valid for higher volt-
age, an external resistor is demanded, reducing the voltage over the transmitter
to 24 V at 20 mA.
