2. CYCLING COMPETITION

Part 2 (4 marks)
Every year, Malaysians create millions of tonnes of rubbish. The worst
part is some Malaysians litter as well. They (6) _____ rubbish out of moving
cars, leave rubbish on the beach after a picnic and even pollute the river with
rubbish. If Malaysians continue to live in such way, Malaysia will soon be

organise clean-up campaigns. This will create awareness among Malaysians to
live cleanly (9) _____ healthily. Also, harsh laws should be imposed to curb
litterbugs. When one has to pay money as punishment, one would probably
think twice about littering in the future. Besides that, the government should
encourage people to recycle. Not only will this help create a cleaner earth, it
will also reduce the usage of natural resources.

Part 3 (5 marks)
Fatin lives with her mother in a small town. Fatin’s father has passed
away. Her mother works as a cleaner at a rich man’s house. Puan Rosni always
reminds her daughter to work hard and never ask for money or anything from
people.
One day, Fatin and her mother went to the night market. There were many
people and the place was very crowded and noisy. Puan Rosni wanted to buy
some foodstuff. While waiting for her mother, Fatin stood at a corner of the
stall. She looked at the customers who were busy bargaining with the hawkers.
Suddenly, the lady in front of her dropped her purse from the basket she was
holding. As she was busy talking to the hawker, she did not realise that her
purse had dropped. Fatin immediately picked up the purse and gave it to the
lady. The lady was shocked at first, and then she thanked Fatin for being honest.
After that, Fatin and her mother decided to go home. As they were about
to leave the market, Fatin saw an old man sitting on the road. His clothes were
torn and dirty and he only had one arm. Fatin felt sorry for the old man. She
went near him and put a five ringgit note in the bowl in front of the man. The
old man looked at her with grateful eyes. After that, Fatin and her mother went
home.

Part 4 (6 marks)
I like to play basketball and I am on the school team.
We have our practices every Wednesdays and
Fridays. The practices will usually be for one hour
and forty-five minutes. Our practices are at the
basketball court at our school gym. The equipment
needed for basketball is the basketball, hoop and net.
My teammates and I wear our jersey, shorts and
sports shoes. We also wear knee and elbow pads. Sam
When we go for matches, there will be five players in
each team.

I like to play badminton. I was recently picked for

the school team. My teammates and I have practices
every Mondays and Thursdays. The practices will
usually be for one and a half hour. We have practices
at our school hall. The equipment we use are
badminton racquet, shuttlecock and net. During
practices we wear a t-shirt, shorts and sports shoes.
Nerissa We also wear a wrist band. I am a singles player
therefore I will only complete with one player.

My favourite sport is hockey. I am on the school team.

Mt teammates and I have our practices every
Tuesdays and Thursdays. The practices will usually

goalpost and net. My teammates and I will wear our
jersey, shorts and boots. We also wear knee and elbow

Visited the ostrich farm, saw the hatchlings and the ostrich
eggs, had fun riding on an ostrich.
8.00 p.m. Arrived at Kota Tinggi Firefly Park.
Took a boat ride on a river, saw thousands of fireflies lighting
up in the dark, the river was calm, saw mangrove trees along
the riverbanks.
28 August (Sunday)
10.00 a.m. Arrived in Legoland.
Experienced the roller-coaster ride, had fun with the water
games, saw all kind of robots.
4.00 p.m. Stopped at Danga Bay.
Took a tram ride around the mini–Theme Park, bought the
latest video games from Danga City Mall.
12.00 a.m. Arrived home safety. So thankful that my country is so
beautiful.

Dear Jeff,
How are you? I went to Johor two days ago.
We went to four places. At the ostrich farm, I tried the ostrich ride and it
was scary but exciting! I also went to Kota Tinggi Firefly Park. The fireflies
were like thousands of lights dancing at night. Next, I went to Legoland. The
roller-coaster ride was such a thrill! Lastly, I took a tram ride at Danga Bay’s
Theme Park. I enjoyed it.
