Dear Sir/Madam,

I would firstly like to inform you as to who is writing this letter. I am the main worker at the “Your
Love is Needed” children’s home. I am writing to ask whether you could possibly inform me if you
could publicise the vacancies regarding our volunteers. The main aspect that the applicants need to
fulfill is the flexibility of their program. We need people who are willing to work in the weekends,
midday and at night, as well. They also need to be responsible. These children require full attention
and care. I should add that we do not accept any excuses in case of an accident happening: everyone
needs the volunteers’ undivided attention. There are lives at stake and potential candidates for this
work are required to understand the value of their work. Nevertheless, accidents may still occur and
it is important to know how to act in any situation. For instance, if a child goes missing it is requested
that the care-taker in place calls 911 immediately. In the event of any kind of injury the same action
must be taken.

There are also benefits to volunteers that do not pale in comparison with their responsibilities.
Firstly, they get to interact with the children through our new program called “Edutainment is Key”.
That way, they could learn valuable life skills such as: basic cooking, ways of keeping someone
interested, how to properly interact with people with disabilities. The act of learning while enjoying
one’s self is beneficial for both the volunteers who are needed to study the material before putting it
in motion as well as for the children.
