Are social networking sites like Facebook the best way for teens to communicate?

Given the complete integration of social networks in the lives of most adolescents, it is

surprising that these sites play an important role in the establishment of friendships and

in the daily ebb and flow of relationships between peers. This chapter takes an in-depth

look at the role of social networks in adolescent friendships, looking at them in a broader

definition.

It's also good because that's their form of communication if they're not around or if they're

on vacation, for example, to keep in touch, make friends, etc. It's also not that good

because of how distracted you can get with just 5 minutes of a video or scrolling through

instagram the longer you stay on a screen, it can really affect the sites of your eyes and it

can take value of your time when being with your loved ones, another disadvantage is

that also in these sites you can find cyber criminals such as cyberbullying, money scams,

and more, since it is something harmful for adolescents because they can become victims

of this type of problem.

In my opinion, I will say that it is good because it allows us to make video calls with

relatives abroad, make friends with our same tastes and exchange different ideas and

collaborations, at the same time it is bad since in part it makes us somewhat addicted to

these types of social networks, and lower productivity levels, makes us inactive and limits

our physical activities, I think I will not give up my phone or any technology, but I will

change the schedules and I will have a limit on the use of my networks and technology, I

will be more productive and I will use my phone for important purposes or to see what

my friends or relatives are in different countries, even in my free time or to inform me of

some important news and thus avoid an abuse of the use of it.
