Reaction Paper

The vaccination for 5-11 years old children is ongoing. As for the parents who
filed the petition to entirely stop the vaccination for the children for, they believe that it is
risky and there are so many complications will happen if a child will be vaccinated. The
petitioners are opposing with the Item No. 5, Annex A of DOH Memorandum No. 2022-
0041, that provides for the exercise by the State of its parent of the nation wherein if the
parents don’t want their child to be vaccinated, but the child wants to, the DHWD will be
the one who will give the consent.

As for the parents, this government implementation of COVID19 vaccination for

5-11 years old is not a mandatory. The parents and the children have their own freedom
to take the vaccination or not. This is just the way of the government to help lessen the
COVID19 virus, for the children to be protected and for their health to be secure. It is
proven as false that this vaccine has a side effect to human. It is just a mere rumor that
your life will be at risk if you are vaccinated.

Parents has all the rights for their children. Voluntarily means the government
has no liability if there are any risk that they believe to be associated of the vaccination.
The petitioners wanted to stop the entire vaccination program of the government but
their supporting evidence is not enough to support their claims. It is not right to stop this
vaccination program; other parents want their children to be vaccinated for their children
to be protected against this COVID 19 virus. The vaccination for children is being
supported by the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) and the Philippine Pediatric
Society (PPS). Therefore, this vaccination program is guaranteed to be safe and
secure. The government wanted to protect the younger generation at all cost that is why
they implemented this program.
