 1. Overview

applicom® software comes on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM contains the complete version of the
applicom® solution.

Starting the CD-ROM

The applicom® CD-ROM starts automatically. Once your operating system is running, the CD-
Browser navigation application will start automatically as soon as you insert the CD-Rom in the
drive.
From the CD-Browser, you can access notably to the following options:
¾ Installation of the software
¾ Consultation of the product documentation.
¾ Scan the content of the CD-ROM
¾ Access the Woodhead Web sites (if your PC has an Internet connection)
¾ Address details of the international subsidiaries, distributors and retailers of Woodhead
Software & Electronics products

Remark: The CD-Browser can be started by running setup.exe, in the root directory of the CD-
ROM.

All changes coming with this version are detailed in the “whatsnew” file, accessible from both the
CD-Browser and the “About” menu of the configuration console. Amongst these evolutions, we can
note in particular:
¾ Support of Windows Vista (caution, the 4.0 version cannot be installed anymore on
Windows NT4.0 and Windows 2000)

 2. Presentation

The installation program runs in two ways, depending on whether or not it is running for the first
time. It therefore starts:
¾ in first installation mode, if this version has never been installed on the machine (or if it has been
uninstalled since).
¾ in uninstallation mode if this version is already installed.

Installation

If the setup program is launched with “user” privileges, a dialog box appears, asking user for a
logging and password belonging to the administrator group:

Uninstallation
Uninstallation will delete the product from your system. All the applicom files will be deleted. Only
your configuration files will be kept.
