My Mother, Tina Barnes, lived in Kalaghoda and she lived with 3 people in her household.

My
mother had a great experience during her school years, it was one of the best times of her life.
She attended school until her 10th grade and the school system hasn't really changed that
much; she studied in an all-girls school(convent). They offered all the subjects that are available
to us in our school and similar subjects are also compulsory, however, they were allowed to
choose between Hindi and French at their secondary level. Their school timings were from
morning 8 to 3, similar to our school timings, and she would come home, study and then go to
play in the evenings. They didn't do homework but they were asked to write do more research
and write reports on the research made. She did like going to school as it was a great way to
interact with people and gain knowledge. Though it was a competitive time her parents never
pressurized her to the top but rather to do well in whatever she was doing. Their teachers were
friendly and helpful, moreover, they did address the teacher with a ‘Ms’ or ‘Mr’; punishments
seem like any other punishment and it was quite fun at those times without the stress of having
to perform well in everything to fit in the college application requirements.
