Assalamualaikum wr.

wb

My name is Aisha Kalyca Olinda from 8th grade class of Khansa. On this opportunity I
would love to deliver Friday Sermon about “the virtue of giving alms”

Islam is a religion that teaches its adherents to always do good to fellow human beings. One
of them is alms. Alms is sacrificing our belonging to be given to those who need it more, such as
the poor, orphans, widows, even to anyone in need willingly.

Alms has many virtues including preventing bad death, also preventing Allah SWT’s wrath
and closing the door of infamy.
like the Words of Prophet:

“Almsgiving can prevent bad death “ (HR Thabrani)

Alms is also an expression of gratitude for the fortune that has been given by Allah SWT,
and Allah SWT promises to multiplies the reward for people who give charities or alms,
especially for those who give them on Friday. This is like the word of Allah SWT:

“the example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of
grain] which grows seven spike; in each spike there a hundred grains. And Allah multipies
[rewards] for whom He wills. and Allah is all- Encompassing and Knowing” – (Surah Al-
Baqarah ayah 261)

And do alms will not make us poor. According to the words of the Prophet:

“Alms (charity) does not decrease wealth” - (HR. Muslim no.2588)

Let’s all do almsgiving, do charity while we’re still living in this world, alive and well
because among the regrets of those who have died is want to give charity.
Thus this Friday sermon, may Allah SWT make us all as His servants who always give alms
solely because of Allah SWT, and may Allah SWT give us all the blessings of life, mercy and
forgiveness.
