Instruction / Procedure
The new Setting Update Version 4.5 can be downloaded from the login section of the HUMAN website:
 Either Service > Technical Downloads > Instruments > HumaStar 100.
 Or Service > Technical Downloads > Instruments > HumaStar 200.

There are two update version 4.5 download files available:

A) V4.5 (complete) containing the complete set of methods.
B) V4.5 (changed only) containing only methods that have changed.

Please make sure that the HI software is not running before removing method folders!

A) Installation "complete"

1. Download the file hs100_settings_v4.5.zip or hs200_settings_v4.5.zip.

2. Extract the file. The folders hs100_settings_v4.5 or hs200_settings_v4.5 will be created.

3. Open the folder and run the start_HS100.bat or start_HS200.bat file.

A backup of the current Human folder will be created (e. g. Human_2018_5_4_10_9_17).
A new Human folder with the version 4.5 settings will be created.

Notes
Please be aware that the HI software is currently limited to 50 methods and the complete setting files contain
more than 50 methods.
Since the smr files are listed in alphabetical order in the C:\ProgramData\Hi\Human\Methods folder and are
accessed by the software in the same order, only the first 50 methods will be usable by the software.
Hence, to enable measurement of all necessary but maximum 50 methods, Method folders of a test including
the smr file of unused methods must be deleted from the C:\ProgramData\Hi\Human\Methods folder.

More than 50 methods can cause an interruption of the communication between the analyzer and the PC.

B) Installation "changed only"

1. Copy the following folders to a different place, or a USB memory stick or any other external storage device:
C:\ProgramData\Hi\Human\Methods
C:\ProgramData\Hi\Human\Application sheets

2. Download the file hs100_settings_v4.5_changed_only.zip or hs200_settings_v4.5_changed_only.zip.

3. Extract the file.

4. Copy the *.pdf files into the Application sheets folder.

5. Copy all Assay folders (containing the *.smr-files) into the Methods folder. Each *.smr-file can be found in
a separate folder.

6. After confirming that the new assays are running properly the folders, stored before in “Step 1.” as a back-
up, can be deleted.
