HCL Technologies, also known as Hindustan Computers Limited, is a Noida-based global provider of

information technology (IT) services and consultancy. It is an HCL Enterprise division. When HCL
entered the software services industry in 1991, the division that had previously been responsible for
research and development became an independent entity. The corporation employs about 187,000
people and has offices in 50 different countries.
On the Forbes Global 2000 list, HCL Technologies is listed. With a market capitalization of $50 billion
as of September 2021, it is one of India's top 20 most valuable publicly traded firms. The corporation
and its subsidiaries have a combined yearly revenue of 71,265 crore (US$10 billion) as of July 2020.

Reason for selection of HCL technologies:

On the margin and revenue fronts, HCL Tech's Q3FY20 results were stronger than anticipated. At Rs.
18,135 cr., the revenue increased by 2.1% quarter over quarter and 16.4% year over year.
Additionally, net income increased significantly, rising 13.4% QoQ to Rs. 3,037 crore.
In the third quarter of FY20, the company reported significant overall growth across all verticals.
Financial Services vertical growth was 16.8% year over year, while Manufacturing vertical growth
was 38.1%. Retail & CPG vertical expanded by 16.9% year over year. YoY, the vertical for energy
utilities and public services increased by 31.3%. Healthcare & Life Sciences saw an 8.9% increase year
over year. The Media and Telecom vertical increased 13.6% year over year. This will strengthen the
structure of the business.
In the main industry verticals of financial services, life sciences & healthcare, manufacturing, retail,
and CPG, HCL inked 12 transformational deals in Q3FY20, lead by IT and business services. The
business inked its first successful synergy agreement, utilizing the services and software division to
launch a new brand. In contrast to the considerable price volatility and discounts that were
previously observed, the management indicated a levelling of the pricing environment. The company
experienced a strong deal renewal cycle during the third quarter of fiscal year 2020, with all
significant engagements successfully renewed.
