● Factoring Polynomials
- Factoring is the reverse of multiplication
- The Distributive Property is used to factor out the GCF of the terms in a
- polynomial and to write the polynomial in factored form.
- ab + ac=(a(b+c) (factored form)
● A trinomial is a perfect square if:
a. The first and last terms are perfect squares; and
b. Twice the product of the square root of the first and the square root of the last
term is equal to the middle term.

- ax2 + 2axb + b2 =
- (ax + b)^2
ax^2- 2axb + b^2 = (ax - b)^2

● How do you factor the difference of two squares and sum or

difference of two cubes?
- (a+b)(a - b) = a^2- b^2
- The product a^2- b^2' is called a difference of two squares, its factors are a + b
and a - b. Therefore, to factor a difference of squares, the process is reversed.
Identify a and b and construct the sum or difference factors.
- To factor, you need to follow these steps:
a. Factor out the common monomial factor.
b. Get the square root of the first term of the binomial.
c. Get the square root of the second term of the binomial.
d. Express the factors as a product of the sum and difference of the results in steps
1and 2.

any method like the Intercept Method or Slope-intercept

- A solution to a system of linear equations in two variables consists of an ordered
pair that satisfies both equations.
