Best Three Dating Websites Considering Search Options

Dating sites supply some combination of three broad classes of services: access, communication,
and matching. Access refers to user exposure to and the opportunity to evaluate potential
romantic partners whom they are otherwise unlikely to encounter. Dating sites typically
accumulate profiles, Web pages that provide information about potential partners that users can
browse. Because many sites have thousands, sometimes millions of users. Online dating offers
access to a larger number of potential partners than anybody could have access to in normal life
outside of the Web. Practically, users can contact any of these new potential partners through the
dating site, although, ma of the potential partners to whom users are given access might not
reply. As such, the access that users acquire through dating sites does not necessarily yield
access to a relationship partner; rather, it simply alerts users to the existence of available
partners. Communication refers to the user’s opportunity to use various forms of computer
communication to interact with specific potential partners on the dating site before meeting face
to face. The mechanisms of communication vary considerably across the online dating
landscape. Asynchronous forms of communication, including messaging systems that
approximate e-mail and simpler, less personalized forms of communication that quickly and
concisely convey some measure of interest, are commonplace. Alternatively, users may also
choose real-time forms of communication (such as live instant message – text-based) chat and
live interaction via webcam that allows users to see and hear each other. All of the mentioned
above are important in deciding to use online dating sites. Due to the life that we lead today, life
does not give us much space to connect with other people. This is the reason why people tend to
use online dating more frequently to find their future partner/soulmate.
The large number of people you can find on online dating sites makes them also an important
medium for investigators. This is a list of my favorite online dating websites, per their search
function:

1. Tinder
The more you know about a person, the easier it will be to find their Tinder profile — if they
have an account through the site’s normal discovery process. The amount of information you
have at your disposal will vary, depending on the circumstances. If you are trying to find out
whether the person you are connected with has a “hookup” profile on the side for cheating
purposes, you are well equipped to search. On the other hand, if you are looking for someone
you have not established a connection with, you might have to resign yourself to a lot more
attempts.
One way is to test a few potential usernames by entering them directly into the search bar. Type
in tinder.com/@[username], and see if that works. If not, try a few variations of the person’s
name. A lot of people use the same information across multiple sites. Another strategy is to
tweak your settings and preferences so the person you are looking for will hopefully turn up as a
potential match. Here is how to tweak your settings appropriately: Set your gender preference to
match their gender. Set your age preference to match the person’s age if you know it. If you do
not know it, make a guess and then adjust it by a year after every unsuccessful search. Change
your settings to match the location of the person you are interested in, so they will be considered
as a “local” to you. Run your search, and swipe your way through the results until you find a
Tinder profile for the person you are looking into.
 If you do not find them, adjust the age and location settings, and try again. These methods are
not foolproof because Tinder’s algorithm can sometimes be hard to crack (Spokeo, 2023). It is
sometimes difficult to know whether you are failing to find a person because they do not have an
account, or because the app just is not matching you with the right people. Tinder is to some
point challenging to search for people, but it can also yield faster results than other sites. The
only thing you need is a good strategy, and because of the large number of people that use
Tinder, chances are much greater that you will find the person you are looking for.

2. Plenty of Fish (POF)

The POF advanced search is fairly comprehensive. If you know the person well – say you know
where the person is from, his/her age, and more, it is usually enough to narrow down your search
field so that you can find them by skimming through the results. Remember, the more details you
can add to the search, the smaller the pool of results you will have to sift through.
Here is how you can search for other POF profiles:
Go to Search on the top menu. Select Refine Search. You can base your search on age,
education, location, interests, and about anything else that might help you narrow down search
results.
Select Find My Match (or Go Fishing search).
If the person you are looking for does not appear in the search results, try bringing the age down
or up a few years. There is a chance that people may have tried to mask how old they are out of
insecurity, or because of some other reason. Make sure you check the location filter when
searching. Plenty of Fish location filter allows you to search for matches in over 60 countries,
and narrow your search results to anywhere between 5 and 200 miles (supereasy, 2023)
3. Match
Types of Searches on Match.com:
Go Search

1. Search Type – Click one of the tabs here to switch to a different type of search.
2. Sort By – Click the box here to open a drop-down menu that lets you pick a certain way to sort
your search results, including:
– Whom Match has already picked out for you as matches vs. whom it has not picked
– When they last logged in (or if they are logged in now)
– How long they have been using the service
– Their age (from youngest to oldest)
– How many photos do they have on their account
– Their username (i.e., an alphabetical list)
– How far away from you do they live
– How many traits do you each have that the other wants
– How many traits you have that they want
3. Availability Filters – Click on these check boxes to include or exclude people from your
search based on:
– If they are logged in right now
– If they are available for instant messaging
– If they have one or more photographs on their profile
4. Search Profile Matches – Short (thumbnail) versions of people’s profiles that have matched
your search criteria show up here. You can see, among other things:
– Their user names
– Their profile photo (if they have one)
– Their age
– Their location
– The last time they logged in (or if they’re logged in now)
– Whether they’re new to Match
– Whether they have any more photos in their account
– How compatible you are
Click on the person’s photo, username, or several additional photos to go to their profile. You
can also click Quick View to view a condensed version of their profile or click Save to add them
to a list of your favorite matches.

5. Basic Search Criteria – Click Edit here to change your basic search criteria. You can change,
among other things:
– Your gender and the gender of matches that you’re looking for (drop-down menu)
– The minimum age of matches that you’re looking for (drop-down menu)
– The maximum age of matches that you’re looking for (drop-down menu)
– If your matches have to have photos or be logged in now (checkboxes)
– How far away potential matches can be from a certain location (click-and-type text boxes)
OR
– A specific country/region/city that matches can be in (mostly drop-down menus)
You can also click Save Search to save your criteria or results for future reference. Click in the
text box in the pop-up window that appears and type in a name for your search. You can also
click the check box underneath to have Match send you a list of matches based on whom you
found with this search. Then click the “Save Search” button.
6. Advanced Search Criteria – Click one of these categories to open up a list of subcategories.
Click a subcategory, and then click the check boxes next to the options within that subcategory
to add them to your search. Repeat for as many criteria as you want to add, and then click Apply.
For example, if you want to search for matches that only have blonde or red hair, click the
Appearance category, then click on the Hair Color subcategory, and then click the check boxes
next to “Auburn/Red” and “Blonde”. Then click Apply.
You can also click the Keyword category, click the text box that appears, and type in a word that
you are looking to see in someone’s profile. Then click Apply.

7. Username Search – If you know the username of a specific person that you like, but you
cannot find them in any of your search lists, click the text box here and type in their username.
Then click Search, which will take you right to their profile.
Mutual Match
A mutual match search finds and sorts people for you based on how many traits they have that
you’re looking for, and how many traits they have that they’re looking for. You can see how
closely you match each person’s profile thumbnail. You can also click the “Sort by…”
(techboomers, 2023) :
 How many traits do you each have that the other wants
 When they were last logged in
 How long they have been using Match
 Their age (from youngest to oldest)
 How many photos do they have on their account
 Their username (i.e., an alphabetical list)
 How far away from you do they live
 How many traits do you have that they want
All of the three mentioned sites are easy to search with a sock puppet account (although some
options are paid). You can always try searching for them externally via Google or Spokeo or
Social Catfish. There are many ways to search these websites, and because of the large user base,
it is more probable that you will find the person you are looking for. These three websites could
be very good starting points for any marriage-related investigation, for many fraud-related
investigations, but they could be also used for rape cases and other serious crime investigations.
These sites are my favorites due to mostly being global, so no matter where your suspect is or
could be, this could be a path to him/her.
