Malcolm McLean the father of the shipping container

This businessman created the container as a key piece to mobilize merchandise.

In the 1950s, seeing cargo load and download from trucks at the port, he thought it
would be better if the truck trailer was removed and placed directly on the ship.
Convinced that the container was the future of international trade, he insisted on the
idea
He bought two old ships and had metal boxes built the size of truck trailers and with
devices to handle them.
His ships had the capacity to move 58 metal boxes, in April 1956 with his client the
US Army set sail with military merchandise
Later, he bought the shipping company "Pan Atlantic Steamship Company" and
gained strength transporting military equipment to Vietnam during the war.
Later it was decided that the containers should not return empty, so it was decided
that they should make a scale in Japan to take products to the US.
McLean created a logistics chain to make this business model possible, going from
high costs and loads of days, to low costs and the movement of merchandise in
hours.
He transformed the history of transportation and international trade, taking a dream
beyond imagination and turning his invention of the century into a comprehensive
logistics system.
