of moral values

I. Read the passage and answer the following questions:

Govind’s Kindness

Govind still remembers his childhood days when he worked in tea stalls. He served customers
thousands of glasses of tea from morning till late night. Everyday, the owner would beat him
for either breaking a glass or spilling tea. There were nights when he was sent hungry to bed
because he made a mistake. The owner also took away money from his wages to punish him for
his mistakes.
Govind supported his family with the money he earned. So he could never give up his job.
Now, many years later, he is the owner of many big hotels in Mumbai. Young boys come to
him asking for work. He does not give them work. He enrols each one of them in a school. He
wants them to study and have a good life. Govind cares for them as if they were his own sons.
Many of the boys whom he has helped have now grown up. They have studied hard and now
work in big offices. They have not forgotten Govind’s kindness. He has guided them and
helped them to earn a good living. Some of them wish to pay him for all his help. But Govind
tells them, ‘Do for someone else whatever I have done for you. That is the only payment you
could give me!’
Moral- Always be kind, therefore when we feel another person’s sorrow, we treat his/her
problems as our own.
