SURAT
Dear Parents,

“One learns from books and example only that certain things can be done. Actual learning requires
that you do those things.” As rightly said by Frank Herbert. “Learning is a Lifelong Process”. We
now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change. And the most
pressing task is to teach people how to learn.
True education starts from home. Parents are the first teachers and they have a key
role in shaping up the character of their child. A balanced education at home and school mould’s a
student’s actual learning. We expect that parents will be involved and supportive of their child’s
learning. This involvement can come in a variety of forms including checking your child’s homework,
monitoring your child's progress on daily basis. Working together we can make a difference and
help our students achieve! Children need to understand the value of hard work and to form the
obligation and self-regulation to commit to their projects and see them through. It improves your
child's thinking and memory. It helps your child develop positive study skills and habits that will
serve him or her well throughout life. Homework encourages your child to use time wisely.
Homework teaches your child to take responsibility for his or her work.

The most direct positive effect of homework is that it can improve retention and
understanding. More indirectly, homework can improve students' study skills and attitudes toward
school, and teach students that learning can take place anywhere, not just in school buildings.
Proponents of homework say that it improves student achievement and allows for independent
learning of classroom and life skills. They also say that homework gives parents the opportunity to
monitor their child's learning and see how they are progressing academically.

walked into the woods, and the old man showed the boy a small sapling and asked him to
pull it out. The boy did so with ease, and they walked on.

II. The old man then asked the boy to pull out a small plant. The boy did that too, with a

little effort. As they walked, the old man asked the boy to pull out the bush, which he did.

The next was a small tree, which the child had to struggle a lot to pull out. Finally, the old

man showed him a bigger tree and asked the child to pull it out.

III. The child failed to pull it out even after trying several times, in different ways. The old
