ABSTRACT

Indonesia is referred the third largest archipelago in the world with a high level of
biodiversity. However, Indonesia has the only one large capacity aquarium,
namely SeaWorld Ancol. This causes uneven distribution of information about
marine biodiversity in Indonesia. Other oceanarium buildings are expected to be a
place for disseminating information about marine biodiversity to the public,
especially the people of the city of Semarang. By applying the concept of
metaphor architecture, it is hoped that love and care will arise to maintain and
preserve the beauty of marine ecosystems in Indonesia.
