Brightening your day with solar

Our Mission
Solarc Green Energy Solutions is committed to giving
homeowners a clear picture of the policy, incentives, and
investment returns on local solar panel installations. We
also recognize the best states for solar and clearly illustrate
how all state legislatures can encourage residential solar
energy growth based on the best practices in the most
successful states.
We are doing our best to change the perceptions of
legislators, decision makers, homeowners, and business-
owners alike to get more solar technology on roofs. Our
activities include educating our readers about their local
subsidies and solar related legislation, as well as connecting
them to solar installers in their areas to make their dream of
renewable energy a reality.

Basic Components

1. Modules –Basic 3 types in the marketplace: Mono

crystalline, poly crystalline, thin film
2. Inverter – converts the DC power produced by the
modules to A/C
3.Net Meter- Measure your electricity use
4. Charge Controller – regulates the power going to the
batteries
5. Batteries – stores DC power

Recives that Direct Current

(D.C) from the panels and
converts it into Alternate
Current (A.C) you use this
electricity when you need it,and
send any excess back to the grid

Net Metering

• Net metering systems are primarily aimed at

providing an opportunity to consumers to
offset their electricity bills, wherein a single
meter records both import of conventional
energy from distribution grid and export of
solar energy into distribution grid. Thus, net
metering allows the final user to credit
produced energy in the grid and is also
promoted as a preferred option.
Types of Systems

Each type has very specific capabilities and limitations

• Stand Alone – Off Grid
• On-Grid connected
• On- Grid with batteries backup
• Solar Water Pamp

Systems can be installed on roofs, ground racks, pole mounts, or on racks

which track the sun

.
Off-Grid System

Off-Grid systems are independent of the

utility power grid. They generate electricity,
store it, and make it available for use
without any connection to the power grid.

Cost estimation and expected returns
For 1 kW Rooftop Solar PV system
• South facing wall, Roof or Balcony required
• Approximately 120 sq. ft. space required = 10’ X 12’
• System cost without Battery = Rs. 0.90 lakhs
• MNRE Subsidy @ 15 % = Not considered
• Estimated generation per day = 4 units per day
• Estimated sunny day per year = 300 days
• Estimated net generation = 1200 per year
• Avoided Cost / Saving = 1200 * Rs. 9# = Rs. 10800 per
year
• Payback without Depreciation benefits = 6.5 years
• Total estimated Plant life = 25 years
