• In today’s environment, which is more important to the organization – efficiency or effectiveness?

Explain your choice.

I think effectiveness is more important because it is what a company needs in order to achieve its goals
and objectives. Though efficiency dictates how a company shall operate optimally to yield its plans,
being efficient without effectiveness is meaningless. While it is true that a company must be efficient to
lessen its costs, but efficiency is better if it contributes to effectiveness. According to Pham (2021), the
real problem with efficiency is that people tend to be efficient in every aspect of their operations. Thus,
when something arises, while they do their work, which they think does not cooperate in their efficiency
they switch their process over and over again which led to both inefficiency and ineffectiveness.
However, if the management focuses more on being effective in all its operations, it is not impossible for
it to discover processes which are efficient to be applied and which will benefit the company in the long
run.

• "Is there 'one best way' to manage an organization, or is it yet to be discovered? Explain.

I firmly believe that the "one best way" to manage an organization varies. This depends upon the
structure and type of business, missions, objectives, vision, goals and the way how the management surf
to the dance of the changing circumstances. Thus, a business establishment must not only adapt and
apply rules of management, but see to it that what they are applying is feasible and effective on their
own business premises. In addition, it may also be possible that a company is to discover its best way of
management in accordance with its experiences in running its operations and taking good care of its
employees. According to Deloitte Canada (2014), best managed companies adapt quickly, invest on their
own competitiveness and they focus on their values and core business. So, in order for a business to be
managed at its best, it must secure its knowledge about its own operations and specializations then try
to think of ways on how these information can be utilized to garner strategies for the betterment of the
company's management . Nothing works best for a company other than applying what it has, what it
provides and what it can improve for it to prosper.
