If you visit the Tower of London,
you can see seven ravens, black
birds, belonging to the crow family.
According to legend, the tower is
only safe with the ravens to protect
it. There are seven ravens at the
tower today, the six required and
one extra! The raven master cuts
their feathers short so, they can’t fly
away, but they have a good life in
the tower. Every day, they eat raw
meat and biscuits soaked in blood,
and sometimes they eat a whole
rabbit. The oldest raven ever was
called Jim Crow and he lived to 44
years old!
