‘To whom it may concern, My name is Donald Roberts, and I was a student of Dr. Sarah Sirsat during my time at SUNY Potsdam. I have taken Anatomy and Physiology I & II with her and was given the opportunity to bea TA forher labs. While working alongside and being her student, I gained knowledge in human anatomy and physiology and a better understanding of science and biology in general. Dr. Sirsat, is an excellent professor who demonstrated a wealth of knowledge and understanding in biology. ‘This is very apparent in her teaching as she can explain various levels of understanding, the broad, spectrum of biological studies. As a student, I witnessed firsthand her willingness to help and teach all levels of comprehension, She would stay late in the labs and go through the material as much, as needed to help grasp the information, As her TA, T would model how I helped students in labs to how she helped my class and me. I would stay late and help students learn and understand the ‘material, just as Dr. Sirsat did for my peers and me. She helped me relate much of the material we covered in her classes to my classes with other professors. An example is when we covered immunology in a lecture. I had an immense baseline understanding of the subject when I covered similar topics in virology with another professor. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and a competent teacher in her field, but she was also a friendly person in lectures and labs. She was able to teach and have fun while making learning the complex course material she taught seem easier to comprehend. Using the knowledge Dr. Sirsat gave us as her students, I graduated with honors with my bachelor's. I then used a lot of the teachings from her classes to go on and become an EMT through the Clarkson EMT course, I currently work in EMS in St Lawrence county, and I thank her for being such an amazing teacher because I already knew most of what I needed to lear for the course going into it, [plan to join the NAVY through Officer Candidate School (OCS) and become a naval officer to work in the Medical Corps and finish medical school, I thank Dr. Sirsat for everything she has done for me, and I know I'm not the only student she has helped during her time as a professor at SUNY Potsdam. With the knowledge she gave me, T have a fantastic foundation to go into any medical program I want, knowing that I have such a good comprehension of biology thanks to Dr. Sirsat.
