Geotechnical manager will also deal with geological hazards like landslides, soil erosion and, in some extreme conditions, earthquakes. ‘Work with project team to complete the project in time. Assess the situation quickly and calmly Prevent infection to injured person Assess the casualty Inform ERC Give first aid treatment Take or send injured person to hospital if it's a serious condition to see that it will not worsen further. Follow emergency procedures as per EPRP. Preliminary Preparation a. Existing Service «Prior to commencement of the excavation, survey works and partially area scanning will be carried out to identify the location of underground utilities such as cables, pipes, telephone facilis and sewer lines to ensure they will be not damaged. Marking of all known existing utilities shall be done. « The Cross trenching as per approved methodology shall be done before commencement of excavation work to check availabilty of any underground utilities and In case of if required any design of shoring checked/ approved from GC design team before providing/ installing the same at site * Existing drainage ditches and water courses shall be temporarily or permanently rerouted where necessary, in order to prevent flooding due to rise or fall in ground water level and changes to the hydrological and hydro-geological regimes of the adjacent areas and will arrange for necessary pumps for dewatering as required at site if necessary. ‘+ RVNL shall review and provide necessary shoring/coffer dam, if required, for stability of the slopes/cut back b. Survey and Setting Out ‘* Bench marks and control points shall be confirmed, protected and maintained in proper manners on Site. «Surveyors will set up excavation lines as per approved drawings. Geodetic survey will be provided to ensure proper placement of foundations. ‘+ RVNL survey team has to record which control points have been used for each section of work when setting levels. ¢. Earth Works for Foundations i. Excavation ‘* Earthworks shall include also clearing, grubbing and stripping. In case of contamination soil RVNL will proceed as per specification. ‘+ Excavations should be kept in safe condition: fenced area, protection of trenches and ditches walls against collapsing. * Open excavation method shall be adopted and RVNL will review and designate excavation areas. Excavations with use of machines will be carried out only in the areas were allowed by MPMRCLIGC. Excavation slopes shall follow the approved plans and safe slope. ‘* Bottom of all final excavations shall be graded true to level and will comply with all the requirements as stated in Project Specification and Project Documentation. Bottom of excavation has to be compacted and tested. ‘* Foundations bottom levels shall be checked as per the last approved drawings. + Ifthere is any area where the level is uneven, backfilling with approved material and compaction shall be carried out to the required level. ‘+ The method of stocking of materials shall take into consideration all requirements for protection from the weather and from contamination through mixing For earthwork in excavation in open/Raft foundation, Excavator of adequate capacity shall be used and side siopes shall be maintained as per design based on GT! reports. Shoring shall be provided on all sides to prevent any type of side collapsing or suitable condition at site. Method and tests for verifying the compaction of strata at the open foundation bottom along with acceptance criteria needs to be mentioned. Dewatering ** In case of Heavy rain, the dewatering will be done in order to drain the water arising from the excavation. some pits will be provided for each location and if pit dewatering is not proper, other method such as well point dewatering will be employed « The fiexible pipe and/or hose shall be installed to avoid any interruption of access road and working area. + After the dewatering is inspected by the MPMRCLIGC, other sequence of activities will proceed as planned, + All permits related to dewatering should be obtained by authorities according to the regulations. iii, Backfilling and Compaction The backfilling shall be carried out as per Conditions of contract, Volume V - Material & Workmanship Specifications-CL. 3.5 and the Once all the pile/pile cap shall be backfilled with same excavated material up to adequate required depth After De-shuttering, the shuttering material is to be removed from the pit and backfill shall only be allowed until the structural elements have attained adequate strength & also concrete surface shall be checked for its correctness. In case if required backfilling material shall be obtained only from sources approved by the Engineer. For every 2000 cum (Volume 5 Clause 3.5.4) of the proposed excavated material initial tests for wet sieve analysis and Maximum dry density at optimum moisture content relationship shall be carried out. Backfill material, other than for roadworks, shall be evenly graded granular material. Material with more than 20% passing a 75-micron sieve or more than 10% in excess of 75 mm size is unlikely to be suitable for use. The material shall comply with Clause 305.2.1 of Specification for Road & Bridge Work of MORTH The backfill material shall be selected excavated material thoroughly compacted in layers not exceeding 200 mm deep to achieve a density of at least 95% of the maximum dry density or self-compacting crushed sand. The test shall be carried out on selected excavated material as per IS 2720 Part-7 for light compaction to determine the degree of compaction achieved for each layer and relative compaction shall be calculated on field by Sand replacement method as per IS 2720 Part-28. Concrete Work 9.1 Reinforcement Cleaning « All steel for reinforcement should be free from loose mill scale, loose rust, oil and grease, or harmful matter, right before placing concrete. Cutting and Bending should be as per approved drawing Reinforcing steel shall be cut and bent in accordance with IS 1786, standard Bending machine with low steady pressure shall be used. RVNL shall follow the specification IS 2502 for bending of rebars. + Bars will be cut and bent as per drawings at workshop, and will be fixed at workshop, when necessary. + Bars will be transported to the Site for placing by trailer or truck. All material shall be protected from damage during transportation and proper storage of rebar’s to against external factors and weather condition will be applied. 9.2 PCC/Placing of Rebar ‘* The plain cement concrete shall be provided as per Approved GFC drawing before placing of rebar's. + PCC top level shall be checked by GC site team before start of reinforcement work and grade of cover block shall be either same or higher than the grade of Concrete of Open foundation ‘+ In case of if any space constraint is something that imposes a limit or restriction or that prevents something from occurring during the excavation work we shall be followed for the reverse shutting work as mentioned in drawing below. ‘All reinforcement shall be high-yield deformed bars and shall conform to indian Standard 1S:1786 ‘* All reinforcement should be placed and maintained in the position shown on the drawings, in which the dimensions and scheduling of bars should be according with project documentation as approved by MPMRCLIGC. + Tying wire shall be galvanized steel of core diameter 18 gauge. to form rigid cages that will ‘maintain their position without distortion or twisting during the placing and compaction of the conerete. ‘* Prefabricated spacers of concrete cover block or plastic type shall be inserted between the bars and internal surfaces of the formwork; so that the required concrete cover thickness is maintained during the placing and compaction of the concrete. ‘+ Before pouring of concrete inspection of reinforcement as per quality control plan shall be performed and have to take approval from MPMRCLIGC representative. 13 OF 38 [DB] BGEODATAGG ister WAY INDORE METRO RAIL PROJECT YELLOW LINE -PACKAGE IN-02 {nAlp TYPICAL REVERSE SHUTTERING METHOD FOR PCC WORK 9.3 Formwork rmwork shall be constructed from materials of sufficient strength, supported to provide rigidity during placing and compacting concrete without discemible deflection and shall be removable without disturbing the concrete and we shall be providing the formwork approved drawing which will be reflect in the GFC drawing and + Formwork panels shall have true edges for accurate alignment and shall be fixed with either vertical or horizontal joints.
