LAB ACTIVITY 1

1. Why is it essential that you know & practice the laboratory safety rules?

- It is essential because the management made those specific rules just because of our own
safety. As a student it is essential to abide all the rules of the school and as an individual I don’t want
me to get hurt or anyone while doing a laboratory activities just because I intentionally did not follow
the rules.

2. What property is important for glassware that is heated? Why?

- Thermal Expansion, glass expands when heated and shrinks when cooled. The thermal
expansion of glass is critical to its thermal shock.

3.What us special in the construction of instruments used for measuring small volumes?

- The special construction of instruments used for measuring small volumes is you can see the
liquid sample that you want to measure because of its transparent glass which is you can accurately
measure it.

4. Describe what you must do at the end of the laboratory period before leaving the laboratory?

- First, I will clean/wash all the apparatus after washing all of it I will wipe all the water.
Second, I will put all on its container, check all the plugs, turn off the stove and the gas where the fire
of the Bunsen burner came from. After cleaning and checking the room I will bring the container
where all the apparatus is to the in charge of all the equipment.
