Answer: Cognitive development refers to a child's capacity for thought, exploration, and problem-
solving. Children's ability to consider and comprehend their surroundings is aided by the development of
information, skills, problem-solving, and dispositions.

2. Are there new ideas regarding cognitive development which you found in intriguing?

Answer: The process by which a kid learns to think, reason, and use language—all of which are crucial to
the child's general growth and development—is referred to as cognitive development.

3. With the advent of the computer age do you think cognitive development is affected? Explain your
answer.

Answer: Yes, because when we need to find answer that search from the internet,answers can be found
using computers. Also, science and math resources can now be found online. Students can enter a
question or topic and the computer will automatically respond with an answer.

2. Observe a primary school classroom and take down notes on the following areas of cognitive
development.

a. Language and speech - Reading, writing, and speaking are all ways that language is learned and
processed (oral).

b. Reasoning - The improvement of a child's ability to reason and think is known as cognitive
development.

c. Creativity - drawings can be the example of creativity with the cognitive development of the children
and making any arts like painting,creating posters and so on.

3. Read the study and titled associations between traffic-related air pollution in school and cognitive
development of primary school children.Write a short summary of the conclusions and
recommendations. In addition to these, write your own insights

Conclusions: Childrens attending school with higher levels of air pollution had a less improvement in
their cognitive development. They have difficulty in their studies especially with polluted air. Sometimes,
it affects even more sick children, who can inhale bad air around them.

Recommendations: The way that is should inspects the building material can be harmful when
construction is taking place. Plan to install proper and efficient ventilation systems around the school so
that the air remains pure and clean.
