Bird Guard

1. Description. Furnish and install bird spikes and coils on bridges for restricting bird nesting.
2. Materials. Furnish materials that conform to the pertinent requirements of the following
items:
• DMS-6100, “Epoxy and Adhesive”: Type III (Class C)
• Bird Coil, Material: Bird Barrier America, Inc. “Bird Coil” galvanized steel or stainless
steel, or equivalent.
• Bird Spike, Material: Bird Barrier America, Inc. “Bird-Flite”, or equivalent.
3. Construction. Install the bird spikes and coils that meet the requirements of the details
shown on the plans, manufacturer recommendations, and as directed by the Engineer.
4. Measurement. This Item will be measured by the foot complete in place.
5. Payment. The work performed and materials furnished in accordance with this Item and
measured as provided under “Measurement” will be paid for at the unit price bid for “Bird
Guard”. This price shall be full compensation for furnishing and installing spikes and coils,
epoxy and adhesive, supervision, scaffolding and for furnishing all materials, equipment,
tools, labor and incidentals.
